5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Painting POLKA DOTS??? on: May 07, 2008 02:33:46 PM
I want to paint some things 'POLKA DOT', I am wondering what could be the best way to cover a large area, I like the handmade look but I kinda have become a-n-a-l about this project, so I kinda want it not to just be "freehanded" I want the dots, prob. half inch to an inch in Diameter.
I was thinking I could make a stencil...any other ideas out there?

Thx.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / 18th century inspired stuff on: August 23, 2007 02:52:47 PM
I am working on some 18th century inspired things as I love all period work. This is the undergarmets worn as outer wear. Silk paniers (polka dots) with ribbon roses I created with satin ribbon. Stretch Velvet garter belt leggings and just a simple black bustier top with steel boning. I got some new platforms for a gift and added in satin ribbon shoe laces. I do that a lot. If anyone doesn't know the effect a panier has to a gown go , look up how Marie Antoinette dressed.

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / beast infection AQUA apron top /reconstructed\ on: August 17, 2007 12:58:57 PM
The Beast Infection masked wrestler top. The Beast Infection is a local band here in philly. I turned thier big ol tee into an APRON HALTER DRESS. (Ties around necks with ribbon) I did a stretch top stitch to keep it from stretching out. I think it's always good to top stitch a knit. keeps the fabric much nicer from wear. thanks for looking!!! =x
