Here are my versions of the neck warmer and mittens from an old sweater *note that the mittens aren't finished yet, and I still need to embroider on everything!*

4  Old Sweater=Sweet Mittens and Neck Warmer in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ifoughtpirahna on: December 14, 2005 02:45:05 PM
Howdy Folks!

My friend's Grandmother gave me an old ivory colored Macy's sweater from the 60's during the summer.  It had bunches of holes and stains.. but it looked freakin awesome, and I knew that I could do somthing with it.. So, I brought it back with me to Virginia and stared at it for like.. 3 months.

Then I saw the post(sorry don't remember where it is) about felting sweaters and making them into gloves and scarves and things.. So I did my own version...

The neck piece turned out pretty well, even though one corner won't stay flat.. Any ideas on how to fix that?

The gloves aren't finished just yet.. I'm going to sew on the cuffed ribbing from the sleeves.. Then I might turn the leftover sleeves into arm warmers.

I also plan to embroider on everything.. Any ideas as to what I should embroider on them? I was thinking a robot, or mayhaps some pretty flowers, or music notes... can't decide.

But, anywho, I would love to hear what yall think of them!

Thanks!

b.t.w.  This is my first project posting.. I feel really silly....  teehee...

5  My VERY 1st Post!! Yea!!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ifoughtpirahna on: September 20, 2005 02:57:58 PM
Here is my very first project to ever be posted on craftster...

It's a purse that I made from an old perfume box.. My mom gave me the box that her Celine Dion perfume came in.... it had a great round shape, and a handle already built in!  So, I just gave it a paint job to look like my fav. band(The White Stripes) and a coat of sealer, and there ya have it!  The peppermint purse!

I had to add a little button snap closure so that the top would stay shut when I carry it around.  I also painted the top of the inside black.. it's blank right now, but soon it will have a painting and the lyrics to a song inside... Then I think it will be all finished...

A pic of it with a CD in it to show size...

Thanks for looking! Lemme know what ya think.
