1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / MK Carroll's Matilda & Tillie on: August 28, 2008 09:57:58 PM
Hey guys!! I'm searching for my next project and I am VERY intrigued by this  pattern http://mkcarroll.typepad.com/mk_carroll/2007/11/matilda-tillie-.html . Specifically the "Tillie" hat. I was wondering if any one else had tried out Matilda or Tillie? any pictures of completed projects? I've googled it and can't seem to find anyone's experiences with it.. which makes me wonder if its just a design no one's done or if it' s a design that either a. doesn't look good on people or b. just isn't something I want to try? anyways if anyone's had experience with either of these hat's I would LOVE to hear about it.
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / pattern search on: December 05, 2007 07:44:51 PM
Hi Everyone
I'm hoping someone here can help me, I really want to knit a flower brooch but I can't seem to find a pattern anywhere, I've seen crochet patterns, but I don't know how to crochet. If anyone can point me in the direction of a pattern I'd be forever grateful!

*edit* removing brooch from my search seems to have helped immensly and I have found a few patterns.. thanks anyway!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / a fetching first attempt on: November 01, 2007 07:38:40 PM
I know that everyone else has posted their versions of knitty's fetching on here, but i'm soo pleased that I have to share. this was the first time I have knitted anything on dpns and my first attempt at cables. I have to say i was expecting a disaster, and I ended up with something i'll actually use !!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my 3 year disaster ( sorry for the big pics) on: June 28, 2007 07:19:03 PM
this hat has been a NIGHTMARE! everything that could go wrong has. I got the supplies 3 years ago, at the time I was told it was an easy project, which , in fact it is, but I was still at the point where I was having to count my stitches every row, and my tension was a mess. Plus I'd never used a pattern. so over the years I've picked it up now and again and enevitably something goes horribly horribly wrong, I FINALLY finished it! and guess what? it's way way to big, of course. But it's finished, and it's the first thing I have ever knit from a pattern, and the the first thing I have ever made that's not a scarf. so despite that fact that it is big, and frankly ugly ( it's meant to be more of a beanie type shape, not worn as a beret as I am having to do)  I shall share.   I think were I to do it again, I would do all one colour, and obviously make it smaller. it would probably only take like an hour or so, now that I have figured it out. we shall see.
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / handle advice on: June 25, 2007 01:54:12 PM
I have this awesome purse http://picasaweb.google.com/em.a.bee/Purse/photo#5080106740737584162 but the handle just isn't working for me,  it's too short to wear over my shoulder comfortably and I don't deal well with having to carry things ( I have a tendency to leave said things on counters, etc)  So I would like to replace the handle with something that works better for me but I have no idea what to use that isn't going to look bad ? I don't think I want to do a chain again, but I don't know if fabric will look right? anyone have any input?
6  COOKING / Dessert / polka-dot cake on: June 24, 2007 11:25:20 PM
So I realize that this forum is supposed to be for recipes, but this is the first cake I have ever decorated and I'm pretty pleased with it ( I think it's pretty cute if I do say so myself). Plus I've never posted anything on craftster so I decided this was as good a time as any, sooo.. here's the cake!

edit.. so apparently I can only have LINKS to pictures right now. sooo here's alink to the cake  haha
