1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Monkeys and Bears and Cats (with dogs!) on: July 18, 2007 10:26:05 PM
I got the snake eating the mouse. It's just WAY too cute and creative to pass up! Toupees? I melted.

I've been going on a knitting toy binge so here are the fruits of my labor!

I adapted Jess Hutch's Kate pattern to make a monkey for my friend!

Also made a bear for her boyfriend (they're happy together). They ended up naming them SockMoney and SockBear, despite the fact they are not made of socks.

And made a Kate out of leftover cotton yarn scraps. Posing with my dog (in my messy apartment Embarrassed), who doesn't chew on him so that's means he approves.

I just bought a MochiMochi pattern so I'm super excited!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: kitty in a doggy sweater on: July 18, 2007 09:46:36 PM
Haha that so awesome. Your cat seems to be a good sport, my own dog won't wear his doggy sweater.

I've been meaning to make him one, all he has is apparel from Gap and Old Navy (which are fairly priced)

Intarsia is so difficult to get and there are so many color switches in that pattern! Great job, I love it Smiley

Blankets take forever! Congrats on finishing yours (I've been working on one for my mom for the past 3 years! HAH)

I love the color combo Smiley

Those eggs are so cute! How did you do them? I have the henry pattern so past the body, how often do you decrease stitches to get that rounded top? Smiley Also I love your little hem detail for the akido bear, it's almost as if he's wearing a robe ^_^
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: how do you let a muggle down nicely when they ask you to knit something? on: June 22, 2007 03:51:21 PM
I show them my fingers. Since knitting is a stress reliever for me, I take a lot of aggression out on myself by banging fingers into needle points and what not. My index fingers are all red on the tips and along the nail line and after a really intense session of knitting, I look like I have a carpal tunnel.

So I show them my hands and say matter of factly that my hands will fall off if I have to finish their project on top of my existing ones. And a sorry.
