1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Toddler couture! (img heavy) on: November 29, 2009 05:22:51 PM
For Christmas this year I wanted to make my three-year-old sister a purse. My goal was to make it look like a designer purse, if designers made purses for toddlers :] The sewing is a little rough..partly because I am lazy, but also because I am not worried about being judged by someone who is 3.

Zebra liner!

They are supposed to be two backwards "d's" for "Delaney", i was trying to play on the Chanel logo. I got out my gemagic and went to town. I know it's really sloppy, but I think that's what gives it it's charm Smiley

here's the matching wallet I made her

it came complete with money because according to Delaney, everything costs $50.

and all of the goodies inside to help her be just like sissy Smiley

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / round four on: October 13, 2009 01:58:04 PM
so my other best friend ALSO turned 21 last weekend, so I made her a bag as well. She loved it so much she cried....which was awesome in my book.

I made my own pattern by doing a google image search for "uterus" printing off a medical diagram, tracing said diagram with an iron on pencil and the transferring it onto a canvas tote.

Ovaries are blanket stitch..sorta...and everything else is satin.

Pretty polka dot liner w/ pockets

and for the finishing touches: happy sperm and tampon charms :]

Rikki modeling her gift <333

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / round three on: October 13, 2009 01:36:08 PM
this is my third embroidery project. I made it for my friend Jackie's 21st birthday. This bag almost describes her personality, which is why I love it

all back stitch and the studs are iron-ons

and I sewed in a zebra print liner :]

comment please
4  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / second project :] on: October 13, 2009 01:13:18 PM
So after my first attempt at embroidering went so well my wonderful boyfriend bought me embroidered effects....and I fell in love with these birds :]

(ignore the stain, I can't keep anything clean)

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / First time embroidery :] on: October 13, 2009 01:03:55 PM
So I decided to start doing embroidery....without actually knowing how.
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=post;board=80.0

My expectations were actually pretty low when I started this, and I ended up surprising myself.

The design is just something I free handed onto a tote bag, if anyone was wondering.

(satin &&back stitch)

hopefuly washing it will get out the pencil marks >_<

6  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Oogie Boogie on: November 01, 2008 04:48:42 PM
My friend Robert decided in August he wanted to be oogie boogie from the nightmare before Christmas, and I am the only friend he has that is capable of making anything...so I got suckered into making it. This was a very heavy costume to sew, and I am super glad just to be done with it.

It's mostly made of burlap. I stuffed it using polyester fill and lined it with muslin and then hand sewed the front and back together with twine. For the mask I used wire to form the eyes and mouth and then sewed some mesh on the inside. In case you're wondering how he gets into the suit I sewed a zipper up the back for him too.

You can't see in the picture, because I snapped it before I was actually done, but I left a part of the seam open and sewed bugs into it because I love the part of the movie where oogie unwinds and bugs fall out.

I left a part of the seam on the side open and glued some creepy crawlies into it

here's a picture of Oogie, in case anyoneneeds their memory jogged <333

8  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Freddy Krueger puppy costume! on: October 27, 2008 08:05:39 PM
Everyone, I would like for you to meet bubble. Bubble is dressing up as Freddy Krueger for Halloween this year :]

Rawr! :]

I know...Bubble looks better, lol.

The costume was super easy. I just cut the sleeve off of an old shirt ( lucky me, chihuahuas are arm sized) and then I punched some holes in a doll hat and strung some elastic so it would stay on his head. Don't worry, I made sure it's not too snug. I'm already making the poor baby dress up...I'm not gunna make him uncomfortable too.
9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / all he knows is ball....and good..... on: October 11, 2008 05:22:33 PM

10  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Need Ideas for Chihuahua costume! on: September 14, 2008 06:40:28 PM
This is my little man Chico, he is a super sweetie and loves strangers...so I cannot wait to take him out on halloween. I am going as a robot housewife, but he doesn't have to coordinate with my costume, so long as he looks cute and is warm...because october in michigan sucks for tiny dogs. He loves wearing sweaters( and bright yellow raincoats...lol) and will put up with my putting him in a costume ^.^

sorry I only have crummy camera pics on hand, but heres an idea of what I'm workin with here...

i'z protected from elements!

oh....and here's him driving a car, just in case you needed cheering up Smiley
