31  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / hot off the hook! on: October 05, 2007 11:36:34 PM
hey everyone, i just finished this sweater about a half hr ago. i haven't even put buttons on it yet. its for my DD although it doesn't look like it'll fit her til she's four. (its actually a size 24 month pattern) but i didn't do a swatch and i used a slightly bigger guage than it called for b/c typically i crochet pretty tightly. the pattern i used was called pink precious, something my MIL gave me and the yarn was encore colorspun i think. it has gray, blue, teal, and purple in it. i don't like tradional baby sweater colors, obviously. anyway, here ya go. let me know what you all think. thanx for looking!  Cheesy

sorry for the sideways pics, i tried making them vertical but they got all stretched out and goofy looking.
32  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / need something to keep warm! on: September 17, 2007 09:24:36 PM
my boyfriend bought me this very pretty dress for my bday but unfortunately i didn't receive it until aug. (my bday is in may) b/c i was living in mi and he in co. and he didn't bother mailing it. lazy boy. so now its sept, i STILL haven't worn it but i would like to b/f there's snow on the ground! is there any crochet patterns for like a bolero or something to match this and still show off most of the dress that anyone knows of that are quick, easy and look nice? and that would go along with the style of dress? here's some pics... please excuse my b/fs messy closet!

33  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / please help!! on: September 17, 2007 04:02:44 PM
ok, i've been crocheting for awhile now but am having a brain fart with this pattern for some reason...and a lightbulb just went off and i think i figured it out but i wanna make sure i'm right so after i frog the past hr and a half of work i don't have to do it again! ok so its a sleeve and the pattern says to dc then sl st then dc and so on so forth then i dc a whole row and then the next row says to sl st in next dc or sometimes says to dc in next dc...so here's where it gets confusing cuz i don't totally know how to word this...if i dc or sl st in the NEXT dc does that mean that i skip whatever comes before the first dc in that row...like if it were a sl st b/f the dc, i just skip over it? does that make sense to someone? i hope so cuz this thing is kicking my ass right now! lol

i took a more close up photo of the stitches but the flash wrecked the picture and now the blanket is in storage for the next couples months since i'm moving and i didn't realize the pic was so messed up until the blanket was packed away Sad oh and by the way, i'd do pics instead of links but i have no idea how! so if someone could pm me and try and teach me that would be awesome.
37  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / embellish a tote etc swap on: August 04, 2007 07:36:09 PM
Saw some already done blank totes at michaels made of canvas i believe and i thought it would be fun to do a swap by embellishing all the diff already made canvas things you can get at places like hobby lobby, michaels, ben franklin, etc. i know they do totes and maybe aprons and i'm not sure all what else but it would be fun to let your partner choose what they would like done and a theme to go with it and then decorate it. any takers?
38  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / interested in etching glass on: July 28, 2007 08:03:38 PM
i'm interested in learning to etch glass but when i look for stencils i like they all suck. any ideas on where i can find some good ones or how i make my own and what material i have to make them out of? i thought i had read vinyl sticky paper but not quite sure...
39  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / desperate housewives swap on: July 26, 2007 11:54:16 PM
i'm a soon-to-be stay-at-home mom and am a little leery about the transition i'll be making b/c i've been working full time almost 4 yrs now and supporting our family so for me to sit back and quit my job is going to be weird to say the least...SO i thought it'd be fun to do a swap based on being a stay at home mom. i'd be willing to run this one but i don't know if i have enough experience w/ craftster yet...what do you all think of the swap idea? i had ideas to maybe make aprons or pot holders or trivets and i know that thats not necessarily associated with stay at home moms nowadays but i couldn't come up with anything else...what else could we make possibly that would tie in with the theme?
40  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / summer themed swap on: July 23, 2007 05:33:42 PM
i thought since once school starts they usually put summer items on sale. and it would be kewl to do a summer themed or beach themed swap. although i'm a newbie and don't feel comfortable running the swap so someone else would have to do it. i just provide the ideas Smiley let me know what you guys think.
