1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Gathering on Sergers & Sewing Machines Tutorial! on: April 27, 2008 02:50:22 PM
Thanks for posting this. I am in the middle of making some maternity halter tops for me (please get here summer!!!) and this was a life saver!!!! I read that other online tut, but don't they say to NOT adjust the needle tension? Um, that doesn't work.

Anyway, thanks again for posting this!!!!!

I love it too, esp the quote! Did you use iron on paper for that?

Maybe once he sees this set he will want to wear pants. Either that or he can follow Scottish tradition and wear skirts!  Wink
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / 2nd birthday outfit- with chenille ruffly pants on: February 04, 2008 07:47:27 PM
My daughters 2nd birthday isn't for a month and a half but I am in the sewing groove and wanted to get at least one birthday outfit done. So I took a shirt off of Targets clearance, added an applique, and made some cute chenille boutique style pants to match. The applique and the ruffle trim on the pants are made from a vintage sheet set I have (they will be a matching skirt soon Cheesy).

How fun are birthdays??

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Picnic dress- very kitchy! on: February 04, 2008 01:25:49 PM
I made around 6 dresses this weekend for my daughter, but she doesn't appreciate them right now so no model Sad. Here is what I call her picnic dress, with red gingham and vintage cottage kitchen fabric. I loved this fabric the moment I saw it and I am glad that I have finally done something with it. It truly is one of my favorite dresses. Oh, it also has a double faced sash around it that ties in the back.

Yes, she is not big into clothes these days either!

I forgot to add that the hem wasn't finished at this point.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Is it spring yet? Twirly peasant dress on: February 02, 2008 10:07:15 PM
Matching pants would look really cute. As always, the model steals the show!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Apron dress- reversible- SO Cute! on: February 02, 2008 10:04:41 PM
I have been wanting to make an apron type dress for my daughter, and I came up with this. The apron part itself is reversible, so it is two different looks in one dress. This one is a bit big in the arms and the neck, so I just finished up another one, but have no model to show it at this hour. Next I am going to try and make a dress with just the apron in front that ties in the back.

What do you think?

Great job on the pleats, it looks great with the ribbon.
