2  Re: Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Part II GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by amor_fati on: July 18, 2011 11:24:26 PM
Pics as promised.  I'm sorry it took so long Sad  My old camera broke but my new one arrived!  It's my first dslr and I have no idea how to use it yet.  I made my boyfriend model- he was none too thrilled- as I won't let him touch the absurdly expensive new camera.

please excuse the messy house! Tongue

Without further ado, my amazing bag from jennieingram!!!  Pictures don't do this bag justice- it is
spectacular!!!

and the Gryffindor Kleenex keeper she made me (which is almost out due to the movie and friends mooching some)

Also, be prepared to be jealous of my charm bracelet- I wear it every day!!! So many people compliment me on it and I was wearing my 9 and 3/4 shirt to Michaels yesterday with the bracelet and bag and the girl says- "nice. a harry potter fan" and continued to show me her purse!  Apparently HP fans are everywhere!

Thanks again Jennie!
I love it <3

3  Olive the Butterfly in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by amor_fati on: June 25, 2011 04:02:03 PM
Olive has been working at the local paper pulp mill (running the paper press) for nearly three years.  Don't let her delicate nature and demeanor fool you- Olive is one touch chick!  Olive is your not-so-average 'jack of all trades' and is well versed in classical piano as well as Ninjitsu. In her free time, Olive enjoys competing in beauty pageants, split pea soup, and arm wrestling at the local pub.

As always, thanks for looking!  Cheesy

4  My first Steampunk Person Ever- Bernie! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by amor_fati on: May 27, 2011 05:46:28 PM
This is Bernie. He is the first steampunk person I have ever made and is a very special guy. Bernie was born on a small farm in Idaho and is the only son of Herb and Gretta Knickenbocker. After getting his degree in linguistics, Bernie decided to move to Belgium where he has resided for over eleven years.
Bernie works as a translator for the US Embassy. In fact, he's the best pig-latin translator the government has ever had! In his free time, Bernie enjoys baking, cross-word puzzles, and styling his mustache in the latest mustache-trends.

5  Re: My Latest Steampunk Critters with Bios!- Image HUMUNGUS! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by amor_fati on: May 26, 2011 07:11:55 PM
Thanks so much!  I just finished Heratio-

By day, Heratio is a professional typist who just received the employee of the month award.  By night, Heratio is a super villain!   His ultimate agenda is to cause chaos wherever he can.  When Heratio's around, no one is safe.  He's been known to shave cats for fun, switch the dates on milk jugs,  and even run up strangers phone bills by sneaking in their homes at night and calling 1-900 numbers.
If you still doubt Heratio's evilness, just look at the mustache he sports.  Now ask yourself, would any kind-hearted owl really have such an evil mustache?!  It just screams 'let me tie you to the train tracks'!
In his spare time away from attempts of total world domination, Heratio enjoys playing Uno, rearranging furniture, and shopping on Amazon.

6  My Latest Steampunk Critters with Bios!- Image HUMUNGUS! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by amor_fati on: May 26, 2011 06:15:23 PM
So, here are my latest creations with a short bio.  I hope you enjoy looking!

Darwin is a thirty-four year fashion designer living in downtown San Francicso. He recently launched his own high end bow-tie line which has hit the fashion industry by storm! Darwin hopes to single-handedly bring back bow-ties as a staple in mens clothing ensemble within the next year.
In his spare time, Darwin enjoys picnics, horse racing, and classic Hitchcock movies.

Edwin is the shy, nerdy, brilliant type of guy. He has been working tech support at a local electrolysis facility for the past two years and recently got a pay raise! Edwin got out of a bad relationship not long ago (all her fault I might add) and is looking for companionship. In his free time, Edwin enjoys role-playing games, Skittles candy, and searching for potato-bugs to keep as pets.

Henreyetta is national spelling-bee champion and is currently looking for employment opportunities. In her free time, Henreyetta enjoys polka music, Haiku books, and Venti no-whip strawberries and cream Frappuccinos.

This is Hercules. He's a 32 year old color-blind Sagittarius who works at the local hair salon specializing in perms. In his free time, Hercules enjoys rollerblading, playing scrabble, and kittens.

Fillmore is a 'night owl' in the most literal sense of that phrase. He suffers from insomnia and has the most energy in the middle of the night when he is painting still-life objects. His newest art collection will feature a variety of fruits, cheeses, and socks- all of which he enjoys immensely.
Aside from being a professional artist, Fillmore enjoys hot cocoa, X-files, and riding his tandem bicycle (though it would go much smoother if he actually had a partner to ride with him)!

9  My Personal Goal- Finally Complete! Steampunk Caterpillar in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by amor_fati on: May 01, 2011 09:58:24 PM
This is Cleo. She's Happy and so am I!
I started making steampunk critters about a month and a half ago. One of the first animals I tried to make was a piece like this. Needless to say, I failed many, many many times (six to be exact).  At the time, I just wasn't skilled enough to take on such a task. But now, a little over a month later, I finally did it!
It took many cuss words, tears, and lots of various bracing ideas to build such a piece, but I finally found a way to make it work (and be sturdy)!
I hope you like her as much as I do Cheesy

10  Steampunk Octopus Couple in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by amor_fati on: April 29, 2011 07:34:59 PM
Hi everyone,
I had a request from an awesome couple on another site for a custom order of a brooch and necklace.
The brooch was to be big, and look 'tough'.  So naturally, I gave him evil eyebrows! Cheesy
The necklace was to be smaller and delicate.  Very flowing fluid lines.
I hope you like them!  Wrapping the chain around the tentacles nearly killed me and involved a LOT of cussing!
