1/3 SCALE MODEL OF BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH AS SHERLOCK HOLMES
From the 2010 BBC Series 'Sherlock'
Method: Crochet
Height: 2 feet tall
Time to complete: 1 1/2 months
Made by and for: ME Cheesy

Full-sized image --> http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/224/3/9/a_study_in_stitching_by_14beavers-d46ahb0.jpg

I really think the hair could be a lot better, and I debated a long time about whether he needed ears or not. Does he need ears? I don't know if he needs ears....

A) Curls from the rear Wink
B) Curls from above Kiss
C) Look at those cheekbones!  And yes of course I included the Neck Freckle, I am in love with that thing.
D) Drama shot with his creator Cool
E) Cumberbummm I dressed him in the suit from the end of the Great Game, so light blue shirt with the double-split suit tails. Couldn't find the right purple for the Purple Shirt of Sex. That's perfectionism for yah.
F) Proof that Sherlock Holmes has a heart <3
G) The cork that went in his neck to keep his head from flopping around. Teehee. Complete with an Adam's apple, because I am such a dork. Roll Eyes (The 'Jaguar in a Cello' bit is in reference to Benedict Cumberbatch's voice. I did not invent the term but I use it ALL THE TIME.)
H) It's all about angles Wink He can look sad, contemplative, or very cross Angry
I) Grey socks, because black on black with black would have been... just, no. Point those toes, Sherly Kiss
J) Just chillin Grin He has a right and a left shoe! And on the foam board in the bottom of the left shoe, I may have written 'The Game is Afoot' in Sharpie....
K) One sleeve rolled up. I did make his hands just a little bit bigger than Tiny Ten's http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=375297.msg4424645#msg4424645 were, because seriously, Benedict's hands are huge. In a good way. He's also got magnets in his palms, and wire in his fingers and thumb so they're posable. Bitty Benny that is, not Benedict.

THE MAN HIMSELF:

I have yarn for a greatcoat and supplies for a scarf, so he's not quite done yet I suppose...

And since Sherlock would be lost without his blogger, expect to see a John Watson sometime in the near future...

SHERLOCK COULD BE APPEARING AT THE WISCONSIN STATE FAIR NEXT YEAR, HE WON A MERIT AWARD AT MY LOCAL COUNTY FAIR BECAUSE HE CHARMED THE PANTS OFF THE JUDGES. Mummy is proud. <3
