1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Little Max's rag doll with magnetic hands! on: August 13, 2008 10:37:23 AM
I just finished this rag doll for my friend's son Max (3rd Bday party), and am itching to show it to someone! I just adore him!

Made with magnets in his hands on in the heart on his blanky. He's got dirty farm wool/alpaca hair that's really funny. The blanket is just a felted sweater.

ceramic button eyes made by my friend, happysilence.etsy.com

Here is a picture of Max with myself and my son Octavian. Max is the blond boy, he wanted to hold Occy.

Thanks for looking!

(I didn't have bias tape at the time)

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Fiber Art Charlie Red Necklace on: February 17, 2008 01:07:10 PM
This is a combo of knitting (icord) embroidery, sewing, felting, and dyeing

Contains: vintage plastic flowers, vintage fabric, wool felty goodness, handspun, hand dyed yarn, felted hand dyed closure, vintage lace, vintage fairy tulle with glitter, handmade ceramic button by happysilence.etsy.com, sparkle pom poms, and vintage pearls (I don't think the pearls are real, but am not sure)

Just freestyle, if you want to make your own, just sew a base and embellish from there.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / FOs: Bag, Mitts, Hats on: January 19, 2008 05:11:44 PM
Intergalactic Cabbage Bag was knit/felted on my knitting machine
Made with Knittydirtygirl hand dyed yarn in Intergalactic Cabbage,
button handmade by happysilence.etsy.com
My vague notes, I just sort of freestyled:
CO 40 and knit one really long piece, then CO 40 again and knit one not so long piece, crocheted edges, icord strap
It's my first bag knitted using my knitting machine, and I'm so happy with it, I want to make tons more. Next time I'm going to embroider flowers.

These mitts I knit for my little neicey using Knittydirtygirl handspun in the color "Olivia" the pattern is adapted from the fabulous book Weekend Knitting

These two hats were a collaboration, I gave my handspun to my friends with some ideas on what I was looking for and then they knit them for me.

This one is a variation of the pattern "Kim's hats" and the yarn used is Knittydirtygirl Swamp Thing and Olivia. It came out sort of huge, would fit someone with big hair or dreadlocks. I love the ear flaps!

This next one is another variation of Kim's hats and the yarn used is Knittydirtygirl Mish Mosh and Gloom

follow this free pattern:
http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/archives/2006/10/12/one_row_handspun_scarf.html
I used size 10 needles and 2 skeins of knittydirtygirl handspun
Makes about a 5" x 5 ft scarf

It makes such a fluffy warm scarf!

The first two hats are knit on 4 needles using altered versions of Kims hat from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, Yarn is knittydirtygirl handspun
The last hat (below) was knit flat on a knitting machine and then finished (shaping) on straight needles
