So this wasn't exactly a swap...but I got a Christmas card from alwaysinmyroom yesterday. I figured I'd show it off here, as it's so cool
Here's my "card"
From left to right, it's a bookmark. Above it is the actual card, next to that a piece of fabric. Next to the bookmark is some book jewelry, and then on the right side there are two gingerbread men and two gingerbread women. The latter are already up in my tree
And a close up of the ginger people
Thank you so much for this lovely surprise, alwaysinmyroom! You're too kind, and you made my day even brighter Merry Christmas!
Naelany, you have a cat named Arwen? So do I!!! Tee hee
yes, yes I do. And one named Pippin You can see them below
Sewpixie, I'm glad you like the fudge! If you like, I can send the recipe. Didn't think to include it...oops lol
And speaking of playing catch up with pictures, here are mine.
First up, day...8, or 4..whichever, I forget which way I'm going now lol
These have met with the highest stamp of approval, by the way...my niece loves the snowman one (been wearing it all day lol). I love them, thank you again
Ok, now for today's stuff. As I mentioned earlier, I didn't get anything, but the cats did. I gave them the treats first, and they went nuts. Well, they were stand off-ish at first, but once they tried them...whoa baby!
(Pippin's on the left, Arwen's on the right)
Then I figured I'd see how they liked their new toy *giggle*. I love the face Pippin makes in this one
And here's another one, where they both had a firm hold on the cord
Finally, I took a picture of everything together. Well, I tried to... as you can see, Arwen wasn't about to leave any of the goodies out of her sight
Sorry for the picture overload, folks, but I just had to share
Thank you again, Sewpixie! I'm so happy to finally have found treats they like
Oh, and I'm glad that you like the wine charms Made them, just for you
Awww... do you have the DC#? I just received yesterday, and it was sent on the 9th, so it took a good long time. Maybe have your partner ask the PO to check for it??? I hope you get it soon, Selise, I know you've been waiting a while.
I know I haven't sent yet (I've seriously had the worst luck with crafting for this swap. It's not even funny anymore), but I received yesterday from paradisecrane. And though I'd offered to hold off on opening until after I'd sent her package out, she said she really wanted to know what I thought. So, without further ado...my goodies!
This is everything still wrapped (well, what few things had wrapping lol) and together:
yes, that bit of fabric in the bottom left corner is a quilt block she made for my Craftster quilt
Yes, that's right. Fawkes has found a new home after leaving Hogwarts. He arrived at my house and was immediately prowled upon by Pippin (see a pic of him in a bit). I had to chase Pippin away from Fawkes. Naughty kitty! Here is Fawkes, perched ontop of my sewing machine. After this shot, I made sure to put him safely in our bedroom, out of harms way.
(Great job on Fawkes...I love that you even gave him the healing tear!)
Now this is all the stuff unwrapped. From left to right: 3 owl ornaments, 3 mice (which were in one of the crackers...no live mice! Thanks, paradiscrane...the cats love them), a small wooden book/box with the Griffyndor colors and insignia (sans lion) and next to that is the Golden Snitch, which is leaning against a small box of chocolates.
And here are a couple of action shots of the cats checking out one of the mice: First Pippin checks it out
And then Arwen comes to make sure he's not keeping it for himself
Thank you very much for all the lovely goodies, paradisecrane. I love it all
Yay, I finally got the second part of my items in today, and got to open 2 days worth!
Here's what I got for day 7. The note with it says " Bags and Beads! 3 zip bags to use or to gift + 4 packages of seed beads".
a shot of everything together:
The big bag (mine, all mine!):
The medium bag:
The small bag:
And then on to Day 6! The note with it says: On the 6th Day of Christmas, my Craftster made for me... T. one T-shirt w/stenciling and 5 Teas... (haha, T... tea & tee shirt ). That note alone made me giggle
Everything together (I'm having a cup of the vanilla hazelnut tea right now...)
Close up of the T (yes, of course I put it on straight away! Duh!). I absolutely love it! It's sooo comfy! Any special care instructions I should know about, by the way? Because of the stencil?:
The color of the T-shirt is accurate in the photo of everything together.
Oh! And I also found a few little extras in the box when I took everything out:
Wow, this gallery's getting more amazing by the day. And I'm going to add to that right now!
First a picture of everything as it came out of the box:
It's another skein of lovely yarn, and this time a hook roll for my crochet hooks (which I was in desperate need of, as my tacky plastic one's literally falling to pieces )
And here's a shot of the inside:
Yes, that's right.... all three hooks have polymer handles! I'd love to know how you managed it. I've seen them on here before, but never did catch the how to of it. Oh...and stitch markers for crocheting? I never knew those existed! They're so cool....
Thanks Sewpixie!!! Ohh, can't wait to see what you think of yours today!
Was that Day 6 from you to me, or me to you??? If it's from me to you, I think I know why that particular package was attacked *chuckles*. Tell them to behave, or Santa'll not let them open it
Anywho! I opened my second package at 3am this morning (hey, that's when my day starts ). And I got an embroidery kit!
Check it out! The little needlebook is made of the same fabric as my pincushion and measuring tape! I love it . Thank you, Sewpixie!!! Ohh, almost forgot to ask... did you do the front of it as well? Is that crewelembroidery or something?? I've not seen it before. Love it though!
