1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Paper Pieced Tabby Mini Quilt on: July 30, 2015 09:16:21 PM
Fine job!  It is so cute!  Bless you for all that paper piecing!  I am just learning and it sometimes is so confusing! Grin

I love the backing fabric as well...hope to see more of your projects!

thanks so much!
when i first started, i totally started with big piece blocks.
i think this one has some of the smallest pieces yet in it!
i'm working on uploading more recent projects in the coming weeks Smiley
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / daffodils and kitty cats on: July 30, 2015 09:05:49 PM

i have a dear friend of mine from middle school who just had her first baby.
she's quite the cat lover, and also loves daffodils (which i learned thanks to her commenting it was her baby's birth flower)
i combined some of oh frasson's cat blocks with a paper pieced daffodil block i stumbled upon and created this little quilt!

i found this perfect piece of fabric on ebay for the backing Smiley

this quilt was the first time i used a walking foot (and used the plastic guide foot) so the quilting ended up a little wonky in places, but i have absolutely fallen in love with how much easier life is with such a foot!
thanks for stopping by Smiley
more photos of this quilt on the blog right here!
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: The Summer of Baby Quilts on: July 26, 2015 07:51:43 PM
i love how all the patterns are the same on the quilts, but the fabric make them look so unique and different!

6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Paper Pieced Tabby Mini Quilt on: July 20, 2015 03:55:13 PM

i participated in my first (and so far only) instagram swap this year, and of course it was kitty themed!
i found this pattern on craftsy and thought it would be a perfect mini quilt to make since i've been doing more and more paper piecing lately.

the block itself is about 12" and i used a stitch in the ditch for quilting it.
all the fabric with the exception of the crosshatch grays & backing came from things my grandma gave me.
here's a photo of the back, which i got on ebay for a steal, and perfectly matches the crosshatching of the gray fabrics!

more/bigger photos over on my blog right here Smiley

ooo I absolutely LOVE these and may have to try my hand at some <3 so gorgeous and they walk the line between themed and classy decor perfectly!!!! great job  Grin

i am so glad i was able to find something that was simple yet represented instead of being over the top cheesy. Smiley
9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: pink & purple parallelograms on: April 13, 2015 05:07:21 PM
I love this! And the strip of unbroken white is great, keeps it from having that dizzying effect I think.

thanks so much!
yeah, i think if that white wasn't there, this would be one headache to look at!
10  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / beauty and the beast pillow covers on: April 12, 2015 01:56:15 PM

i recently saw that the latest disney swap round needed a swap angel, so of course i had to jump in!
she had a love for beauty and the beast, and needed some home decor type items for her house.
i had always been eyeballing fandom in stitches' paper pieced patterns, so i finally went for one!
i blew them up over 200% and created some pillow covers.
i stitched in the ditch (mostly) around the basic outlines, and then attached the "envelope" cover part using a pinterest tutorial Smiley

can't wait for another disney project after this one Smiley
