That's really cool!  I'm waiting for them to let me download the pattern now.  Smiley

it's super weird, that's for sure.
i think i eventually got an e-mail saying my "purchase" went through and i could download it.
totally slows down the productivity!
Tell me about it!  (Also, WOAH fiddly pieces!  I think my sewing machine would eat 1" x 1" squares...)
right?  the 1" pieces were a little crazy for sure!
and i know there is a typo in there as well.  one of the pieces on the flash says it's 2"x something, but i think it actually needs to be 2.5" if i remember right.
there was a whole lot of grumbling that day... lol

7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / the coloradifornia cameras quilt on: November 16, 2014 09:27:11 PM

two states, one fantastic quilt
i visited my cousin in colorado this summer, and we found this AMAZING quilt store (that we happened to visit four times in the week i was there)
i had an idea for my sewvivor sewalong lap quilt, and after one visit, i knew exactly how to execute it.
the pattern was the vintage cameras quilt by carina gardner and with a few tweaks in size and colors, i made it my own!

this quilt got it's name by the camera fabrics being from colorado, and the background, border & backing all being from california Smiley
a whole lot more photos on my blog.  be sure to check it out here: toothpaste and orange cat

and of course, the cute minion that helped me pick out the colors & lay out my fat quarters after ironing Smiley
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / petite trellis on: October 19, 2014 02:07:55 PM

i spent a week of my summer in colorado, hoping to see my cousin's child firsthand...
that baby had other plans, but I was glad I was able to leave him a little something upon his arrival.
when she found out baby #3 was going to be a boy, i knew that meant super heros, but i also knew i had to work cats in there, just to bother her husband.
i remembered this fantastic kliban cat sheet i had seen on ebay for years, and so i purchased it to use as the back and found a great "petite trellis" pattern for the front.
this pattern was something new and different from the typical baby quilt colors & patterns i had done, and i loved it!

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / hexing around batik quilt on: October 19, 2014 01:52:29 PM

another little quilt from the sewvivor sewalong i participated in this past summer.
i used the hexing around tutorial from freshly pieced to create these blocks, and then sewed them together to form this mini quilt!
a simple stitch in the ditch was enough for me, and i love the quilting look on the back Smiley
