Holy cow, that's AMAZING!  Shocked  Just so, so perfect - the blocks, the back.... all of it!
thanks so much!  i totally got lucky with finding this backing.  sheets are so expensive, even on ebay!  Shocked

Your quilt is so adorable!! You did an amazing job on this!!
thank you!

Thanks! I have a project for an upcoming event. I hope they have an angel on there. I will try my hand at paper piecing there. It looks tedious but fun. This looks like such a fun project, and emisaurus makes it look easy  Cheesy although I am sure it was not. I can't imagine the time she put into it. Even for the smaller size quilt. This is absolutely beautiful.Ii can't stop looking at it. And I don't even really like the lion king. Daughter did when she was little. She is now 23. But the colors are mesmerizing. And the expressions. The pattern designer was great, and emisaurus did a great job with interpreting them. I keep coming back here to look.

Darn. Checked the site. Not exactly what I am looking for. At least not at the moment. I need a holiday angel not the creepy weepy ones. but I should be able to find a pattern somewhere for that. Don't worry. This has still given me inspiration for a new thing to try to trade with a new friend.  Grin

thanks so much!
if you couldn't find one on fandom, i know i have found paper pieced patterns on craftsy.com for free as well.  i started with their very basic patterns when i first began paper piecing, and then went from there.  once you get the hang of it, it is a breeze Smiley
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / lion king paper pieced baby quilt on: October 18, 2015 01:03:13 PM

i completed this quilt last month for a dear friend of mine.
it had always been something i would have liked to do for her, but at the time had never paper pieced in my life.
a year ago, i began paper piecing, and then when i found out she was having a baby, i knew this quilt had to finally happen.
originally, it was going to be done by december, but her husband flew her in (from alaska to california) for a surprise baby shower weekend, so i had a much closer deadline!
i couldn't be happier with how it turned out Smiley

the blocks are all kona solids, and the backing is a fitted sheet i found on ebay to chop down to size.

some of the blocks

i did a black on black binding to tie the front in with the back, and kept the quilting very simple Smiley
i don't know when i'll get the guts up to do another paper pieced quilt such as this one, that's for sure!
though my sister is convinced she now wants a mulan one... oy!
thanks for looking, and there are way more photos and close ups on my blog here: http://toothpasteandorangecat.blogspot.com/2015/10/just-cant-wait-to-be-king-quilt-for.html

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / the 100 pudge cats quilt on: August 16, 2015 12:54:20 PM

last december i did the "catvent quilt along" with oh frasson, and loved the result (seen here)
since then, i had plans to immortalize my own cat elroy in quilt form (i mean, as any crafty cat person should, right?)
i used the 100 block layout for this quilt, and started stashing white on white & black on black prints to use throughout.
here it is in it's entirety!

some of the faces had a small square that was perfect to use for elroy's pink nose, so i used leftovers from my camera quilt and gave the blocks little sparkly pink noses, and the backing is a solid pink to compliment it as well Smiley

when this middle block came together, it was suddenly such a perfect representation of his actual face.
the white on this middle one glows in the dark as well!

i'm stoked about how this quilt turned out,
but i can't say the same about elroy...
