Did some fabric shopping online this morning.  Makes me realize that I really should keep several yards of basic colors (white, black, grey) at home.

heh.  i've been putting my fabric on to comic book boards, and find the same issue.
my stash is mostly disney related or cutesy yardages.  nothing solid or basic of any kind.  lol

carolmb:

i struggled thinking of blocks that made sense... and i stumbled across this pattern on pinterest by happy search accident.
every year in our town we have an eggplant festival.
we don't actually grow eggplant here... all the good vegetables were already taken.
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: music themed triangle quilt on: August 01, 2014 09:35:09 PM
thanks!
at camp, they do two raffles now for raising money.
one being the "golden baton" to lead the band in a song, the other now being the quilt.
from what i hear, the baton pulled in about $100 in ticket sales, but the quilt got around $300 in sales
always good to hear it got a great response from parents of the campers!
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / classic pooh & friends cross stitch on: August 01, 2014 09:32:11 PM
hey friends!
hardy ever on the needle work section of this community, so when i have a post for it, it's quite a feat!
i decided that along with making a friend of mine this quilt for her baby, i would also make her a cross stitch to match her nursery theme of classic pooh.
i hardly ever finish a cross stitch, so deciding to do this was quite a task in itself.   oddly enough, i finished it WAY before the quilt was finished.
here are a few photos!

bigger photos over on it's blog post here
thanks for stopping by!
10  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / music themed triangle quilt on: July 31, 2014 10:47:06 PM
i wish i could come up with a much cooler name for this quilt, but i can't.
my siblings have gone to music camp for years, and this was year two of the camp deciding to have a quilt raffle to help raise money.
after trying to draw up inspiration, and then seeing waggonswest's alphabet blues quilt, i just loved the triangle idea.  i found a "quilt along" put on by the sassy quilter, and followed her directions as to how to achieve this quilt in a lap-ish size.  i followed the same quilting lines as waggonswest, and whelp.  here is the end result! (complete with cat fur that just would NOT go away)

as always, more (bigger) photos for this quilt over on it's own blog post.  click here for that!
