1  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / stop that dog from crawling under! on: March 01, 2008 03:58:07 PM

Here's an odd - but desperate - question. I need some sharp minds to help me with this!

Problem is, I have a dog who LOVES to sleep under my bed. I have an old IKEA bed that I've had since I was a kid, and it's not in the best of shapes (just keeping it for 6 more months though).

And once it actually broke and I fell to the ground.

Now - I don't want my dog under there, because what if it caved in on him?!

BUT - I have no idea how to keep him out of there. I goes under and there's no stopping him. I've put boxes with books in and suitcases and what not under there, but he just pushed them out and crawls under again.

In desperate need of a dog-stopper. Anyone?
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / baby gifts in-a-hurry ideas needed!!! on: February 04, 2008 05:50:58 AM
I need some serious help with ideas for newborn babies/first-time mothers! I am a student and have a lot going on outside school too that takes up almost all my time, and all of a sudden everyone in my family is having a baby Tongue The texts keep rolling in and I have no idea what to send to them! Anyone want to help me come up with something?
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Family Tree project - feedback needed! on: February 04, 2008 03:05:47 AM
I sat down with my two extremely fat family books this summer and wrote down my family tree (from 1600-2000) and yesterday I found it and finished it with black pencil. Now, since it did take some work and I really like history like this, I want to frame it in a nice frame and put it on the wall (when I can find a frame that measures 37x30 that is....) but here's my problem;

There's the family tree, but it aint pretty Tongue So if anyone has any idea on how to make it look good, good enough for framing, I'd be very grateful! Smiley One idea I had was to somehow include our family shield http://www.geocities.com/tbragesjo/rvapen.htm but I'm not exactly sure how or where I will do that either..yet Wink
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / (Design inspired) painted bowls on: April 21, 2007 02:22:19 PM

Anyone into painting plates/bowls and such? I saw a pair of plates from Clio a few months back, and made a quick sketch from the minature picture I had (it was a print on a plate, I think) and then when I came home from IKEA with two bowls (bought them for a dollar) I thought I'd try, they were cheap enough to just try, right? Tongue It doesn't look like the Clip plates at all, now that I have compared them, but one is hand painted of course, so they couldn't possibly have anyways. And I hadn't seen them in so long when I did it...

6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Redecorated mini-address book on: March 26, 2007 03:55:00 PM
This was my first try at redecorating something, but I bought this address book for my mum's bday. The one she had, had been to every corner of the world and was tiny and in...50 parts? Tongue So I bought this little one;

And made it into this;

7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Scrapbooked birthday card on: March 09, 2007 12:29:47 PM

Made this card (left front and right back) for my friend who turns 21 on Tuesday with quotes from things we did in high school and some inside jokes, photos etc. Wasn't planning on making such a project of it, but it was fun Smiley

(the front doesn't look, nor is, painted on in real)
8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / looking for a remedy on: January 08, 2007 07:01:45 AM
Hey everyone! I didn't know where this entry should go under, but I'm looking sorta for a recipe so...here we go Tongue Feel free to move!
I have had serious (?) problems breathing from time to time, doctor's think that it's mostly caused by exercise and overstrained lungs and some say it's because I have a possible heart murmur yada yada, but as usual, it's something they just can't help me with. Now, I know there's a salve that you can rub on your chest, probably contains eucalypts for obvious reasons, to make it easier, and I was wondering if anyone was sitting on a recipe or method to create this, and if that special someone would be kind enough to share..? Smiley

You'll need beeswax, almond oil and some essential oil, can be found at any hobby shop (in Sweden Panduro will have these things). Just heat the almond oil with the beeswax in a hot water bath til it's all melted down, pour in a few drops of the essential oil of your preference and stir with a spoon.

Pour the mixture into lip balm tubes and let it cool in the fridge, and you're done.

Thumb rule is two parts oil to one part beeswax. So, basicly if you have 2 tablespoons of almond oil, you have 1 tablespoon of beeswax. Easy as can be! (you can decorate those tubes if you don't want that white and boring look)
