I'm making a jacket out of 100% wool but it has ALOT of seams and i want it to all lay flat and look nice. But i dont know if I can iron it or if so, what setting to put it on. Our iron goes from 1-6 and 4-6 are "steam" settings (I suppose). What do I do?
I've actually become quite obsessed with swimwear in the past couple weeks. I have around 50 different sketches and I can't help but draw more. I'm hoping to make some of them this summer but I've never made a swimsuit before
I've been looking all over the net for wild new swimwear styles for inspiration. Anyone have any good sites?
rachikus- its fake but tried to make it sound fancier by saying its a real fake and not just a fake-fake. idk i guess it made more sense in my head haha
i love it just the way it is! but if you still want to add something i'd say add a 3-4 inch ruffle at the hem. just please no ric-rac i can't stand the stuff.
This year, my friend had me make her dress from senior prom. She picked out the pattern, fabric, and notions and I sewed it. It's more of a skirt and top but we just called it a dress anyways. It took FOREVER. But she loved it so it was owrth it. The top is boned and fully lined and the skirt has 8 panels that I pressed open and serged each side. So i serged 18 seams on the skirt alone. Which was a pain. But the fabric frayed and I didn't want it to fall apart on her. The straps/sleeves were my own design because she wanted her shoulders to be covered. And there's a really fake diamond trim under the bust but you can't really see it in the pictures. The trim was hand sewed and so was the skirt hem . The whole dress isn't really my style but it's what she wanted and I think it suits her style perfectly.
This was the pattern I used and I did the dress on the model on the left.
oh my gosh i absolutely LOVE IT!!!! that fabric is perfect and the skirt design is just detailed enough to not be overwhelming with the print. i love love love it!!! awesome work!
