1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Witch/Wicca/Pagan Swap Round 7 on: May 29, 2008 12:25:06 PM
Even though this swap is very interesting, I feel like I need to study things more by myself and search my true feelings about the paganism. But I'm definitely lurking the gallery and who knows, maybe I'll join the next round Smiley

I still have a left over gorilla-head from my little experiment Smiley

I'm so glad you like the monster trio, they were so fun to make! The extra die was never attached, but I included it anyway.

Oh it was a gorilla? Well that explains even more Smiley I might try to make one myself, too, to give this one some company. They could, um, chew each others or something...

By the way, I forgot to mention that you wrote in the letter that there would be a magazine but I didn't see any. I'm amazed with the items I got already, so don't get me wrong, I'm just telling this so you're not wondering why it doesn't show in the pictures. I wonder if they took it in the post office? Don't know why though.

Ok, here we go. My stalker was Annchen from Sweden! I didn't even know there were swappers so near me. Anyway, she did an amazing job stalking me and making my wists come true.

She ripped some pages from an animal book for me to use the illustrations! I love forest animals. I also got a bookcrossing book. The Little Prince is my favourite, I have it in Finnish so I'm interested to read it in English, too.

Beautiful natural dyed wool yarn! They also have cute labels in Swedish. I love natural dyed fibers and even though I have a wool allergy (which Annchen had considered) I can use these as an inspiration.

Tiny, tiny dices in brooch! One was separate, I wonder if it has fell off from the row. I love board games so this is cool.

A box turned into sauna shrine! It has scented candles and small towels. I love it, now I can say I have my own sauna.

Now here's the best part, my new monster friends. I laughed when I saw the big one because I had never thought I would actually get one like that from my wists! First I thought it was store bought, but then I realised it was a teddy bear which just had ate his head off. So-freaking-cool. And the mouth is so deep that I can hardly reach the end with my fingers. I just have to figure out their names...

The small ones are taking a bath in the sauna (which apparently turned upside down, lol!). The big one is, ofcourse, very upset because it can't fit there, so it's eating the towels instead.

I absolutely love everything and can't thank enough!

Tack s hemskt myched igen, Annchen! Smiley

I got my package yesterday and was hoping to post pictures today, but it has to wait till tomorrow since the camera battery is empty from another photo shoot... D'oh.

I must say it was one of the best swap packages I've ever got. I can't wait to show you guys what kind of friends I got. Teehee. Grin

Alright, here is the lovely package #3 I got from lilylola! My bf is having business trips all the time and never has time to take action shots of me wearing the items, so the pics are a bit poor Undecided but I hope you all can still enjoy them.

Again I'm amazed with the beautiful jewelry. The necklace is actually a piece from an old Tamagochi which had a ride in a washing machine. Beautiful colours and great work!

A skirt from recycled fabric. It fits perfectly, it's stretchy and about knee high. Sorry about the bad photo angle, it's hard to take pictures of yourself.

A beautiful sweater from recycled jumper. It has been dyed, reshaped and decorated with different kind of buttons. I LOVE that big wooden one! One button fell off, but I can easily get it back on so no problem.

All the colours mix well together and I love them. Thank you lilylola for being such a great swap partner and a friend! What a fun swap this has been Smiley
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Crafty Detective Round 4 (SIGN UPS ended, SEND OUTS 5/14/08) on: May 23, 2008 01:26:57 PM
Huh, I have received? I didn't even know that! Cheesy

I'm currently visiting my parents for a couple of days, so I didn't have a clue about it. I assumed my boyfriend would have called about it, but oh well... And that might also be the reason why I haven't PM anyone about it. I'm returning home tomorrow, but of course the post office isn't open on weekends. Agh! So I have to wait till Monday...
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help with Rinoa sweater/dress! IMG HEAVY! on: May 20, 2008 01:43:47 PM
Even though I'm not familiar with the character, I really like the garment. And it's clearly knitted k2 p2 ribbing. I found a bigger pic of the wings  which shows that they are knitted too, either painted on afterwards or knitted with white yarn.

The basic shape is really easy as Melladh already said. Just start knitting ribbing from the hem and make the holes for arms and neck in the end, and sew the shoulder seams.

I'm so pleased that you're pleased! I was a bit worried about the book whether it's a good idea or not, but it's true that a strange language makes it more interesting and in the end that's why I decided to make it.

And I'm soooo sorry for not sending an ink pad for the stamps, I just forgot that and realized after sending! I can send you one in an envelope if you need one, I mean it Smiley
9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Witch/Wicca/Pagan Swap Round 7 on: May 19, 2008 04:28:11 AM
Ooh I'm very interested in this swap. I'm pretty much in the same situation as 1boy1girl1kitty2, I'm a newbie in this stuff. I haven't decided to be a part of any pagan religion yet, but I'm thinking of it very hard. So is this swap only for those who are already a part of a religion, or can I join just for a mere interest and curiosity? I would be happy to share my knowledge about Finnish paganism if anyone is interested Smiley

And about the tarot cards, my all time favourite artist Stephanie Pui-Mun Law has almost completed her illustrated deck. You can see it here: http://www.shadowscapes.com/Tarot/ I have watched her work for many years now and as soon as it's ready I'll order the deck, it's just stunning!
10  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: 5/16/08 - Craftster's Moving Onward and Upward! on: May 16, 2008 12:24:53 PM
This is amazing news and I support you Leah all the way Smiley I'm a media engineer student and we are taught to do several things like managing data bases, building web pages and making the graphic designs. Even though I can never imagine how much work it needs to run a community as big as Craftster, I can still understand how many different areas there has to be taken care of. It's just mad to think that you are behind this all (with a big help from others) so I'm really happy that you get all the experts from those different areas from NameMedia to handle them.

Craftster has made the crafting more interesting, more creative and more international hobby to have. I just want to thank so much for giving a place for us to share our ideas, give our helping hands, spread the inspiration and give a peek to our many, many cultures Smiley And I'm sure it will stay like that, just making it better and better every year.
