Grab a coffee totally spoiled me with a ton of lovely charms.  OMG!!  So hard to choose between them all, but I so love the one at the top with the extra dangle and the huge faceted one especially.  I am thinking of gifting a few of them to Lana's hula sisters this holiday season.  Smiley

2  Spread the Crafters Love to Difference Makers for the Holidays in Crafty Charitable/Social Causes by underthemountain on: November 12, 2015 05:07:51 PM
Moved from: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=196.0

We will be holding our auction on April 16th, 2016.  Please send your donations to Difference Makers by March 16th. Thank you my wonderful friends!  Smiley
Please send me your:
      company name
business card (1 for each item since people may gift them and 1-2 extra for me to share with others that might have lost the bidding and would like to contact you) to the following address:

Difference Makers
Attn: Bryan Goehring/Craftsters
Takoma Park Middle School
7611 Piney Branch Road
Silver Spring, MD 20910

Please mark it Crafsters otherwise they might open it up and lose the contents and please PM me when you send to them so that I can ask Bryan to be on the lookout for it.  Thanks!  Smiley

I realize some of you might just be donating and not wanting customers, but I thought I'd just put it out there for those that might.  Not everyone is as lucky as we are to be in Craftster swaps.  Thanks! Smiley

Hi all!
Lana is a member of a wonderful non-profit, student run organization called the Difference Makers (http://www.difference-makers.org/).  Their mission is to help raise tomorrow's leaders by giving them opportunities to lead and serve the community (snow shovelling, homeless, etc).  This has grown from a middle school organization in 2009 to including several new MS and 2 high schools this year.  To date their leader has been paying for the operational costs out of his pocket; he's a middle school science teacher.  He is really the most selfless person I have ever met and I felt that I couldn't just sit there and not try to help him.  We are now working on a silent auction to help pay the increasing operational costs as these programs expand.  I am hoping that my amazing Craftsters family will be able to donate a crafted item for this auction.  The items will be put on display for 1 week during which time the students can bid on them and will end with a night event where parents can come in and bid on the items.  Please see their Facebook/youtube pages to see all the great things they've been doing and please 'like' it!
Thanks for considering it! Smiley

Woohoo!  Made 75 buttons tonight at Lana's old school as a fundraiser for the Difference Makers...so $75 for them!  Wee!  Hopefully we'll do more.  My goal is to get them $2000 to help with their operational expenses.  We've raised $150 so far in addition to $100 that Lana gave them from her savings! DM will be going out to shovel snow for the elderly and disabled in a few months so at least this will help them pay for the gas.  We're planning on getting a snowblower so that we can help them without John having a heart attack.  John needs one anyways.  Snow is heavy stuff!  Smiley
This is the logo that I am going to redo a bit (the lettering is too blurry) so that I can make buttons for our club members!

Always I can't tell you how much use we are getting from the machine you gifted me.  Thank you sooo much!!!

A few little knit goodies!  Cat hats for Lana, my little niece, and her bff (purple, not shown) and pencil scarves for my little niece (Frozen blue) and a friend's daughter (purple)!  Thanks Sheep for sharing the cat hat pattern!  It's very simple and easy to knit up!  Smiley

Love the lino cards!  It is a lot of work, but the results are awesome Sheep!
Great knitting cmouse, crochet Freakie, and sewing Always!  I'm working on a couple of knit hats atm.  Smiley

Many of you know that a few years back Always gave me her awesome 2.5" button machine that I've been using for our Science Fair.  This year I decided to splurge and buy a smaller 1" for buttons with the idea of making buttons for the older kids for our Spring Beatles Concert.  For the younger kids I'm going to use Always' machine have them color their own Beatles button.  I'll be sure to share those with you in a few months.  Their concert isn't till the Spring, but we'll start working on them after Christmas.  Smiley  Anyhow here are some of the buttons I've cranked out with the new machine.
