love it all!  the hats are fantabulous!

I'm posting a photo of our Difference Makers auction.  I made the placards and think that should count as an item because they took a long time to make.  Smiley
A big thanks to all the Craftsters that donated their talents to help us raise some much needed funds! Shouts out to alwaysinmyroom, Onyxnox, Abbeeroad, kbrison, thisbirdsabsurd, BeaG, LovelyMiss, Bunny1kenobi, plaidpineapple, ptarmic wumpus, texscrapper, Sheepblue!!! Thank you all so much!  If you are curious as to what they all made check out the DM Facebook link in my signature.  Hopefully they also will share what they made.  It was AMAZING!

OMG!!! We had a very successful auction thanks to all of you!!!!  I'm only posting 2 shots here, but if you go to our Facebook page you can see closeups!  The smaller items I used for a BIN table for the kids and the larger items went into the auction.  Everyone went bonkers over the hand crafted stuff.  I kept hearing responses like, "No way!  Someone made this?"  They were even more jazzed when I told them that you all are professionals and doing this for fun.  They loved hearing about Craftsters.  It was an amazing night.  Thank you  all so much for your love and support.  I truly couldn't have done it without you.  We had nice donations from restaurants, etc., but the art stuffs were very much appreciated by everyone.  I won Bonnie's resin pendant and the tee that Summer made!  Yay!!  Everyone LOVED the chicken and they petted it to death!  It went to a very nice home, but unfortunately the media teacher got outbid. Deanna's and Abigail's jewelry, Emma's screenprinted and sewn items (my friend got your Dr. Who scarf for her daughter); Linda's chapsticks and Bea's crocheted balls were also a huge hit, as were Ashley coin pouches and Nikki's felted items.  I wish you could have been there in person to witness how much everything was loved and oo'd and ah'd about.
Thank you all so much!  Your support really means the world to me!

The monies you helped raise are going to be used for craft supplies/tools, and van maintence.

Lana is running 2 craft-a-longs with her chorus on Mon/Tues.  Check us out on Facebook to see what we're doing.

What kind of craft supplies/tools?  Some of us might be able to help out there as well as giving finished items.

Aw, thank you Kathy!  You have such a big heart!  Smiley  I will let you know once plans are more firmly in place.  Bryan just discovered that I can craft a little.  LOL.  The first thing we are working on is pinatas for Extraordinary Birthdays.  I will help them with that on Wed. Lana is  a pinata pro so I'm sure they really won't need my help.  After this they are probably going to focus on making stuffies for a while.  I'm going to see if they want to help with my pillows for the NIH Children's Inn.  They only need to be stuffed with fiber fill and sewn up.  My personal thoughts are that DM should learn how to make jewelry that they can use to help charities like Extraordinary Birthdays and either sell or auction off.  If we go that route then simple jewelry tools are probably the most need item.  I have fabrics to share with them if they aren't too picky.  I would love to teach them how to make bibs for their Newborns in Need projects.  Smiley  There are so many fun possibilites, tie dyed/bleached tees to sell, knitting/crocheting hats for vets/babies, sewn items.  I can't wait!!!  Smiley

Congrats Freakie!!!!  Lucius is ADORABLE!  Smiley

This isn't my craft, but I wanted to share.  Smiley Lana designed 2.5" buttons for Difference Makers Global Youth Services Day on April 16.  Youth from around the world are united in community service on this day.  DM has a huge list of organizations they'll be supporting for this day and throughout the month of April.  All students participating will be receiving a button.  Smiley

OMG!  Loving all the amazing things!

Freakie, what a sweet drawing.  Hope you're doing well!!!  Smiley

Always, cool fabric. Can't wait to see what you make with it, though it is a piece of art as is.

bethntim, love, love your little hungry catapillar bundler!

Bunch of buttons for Difference Makers and Science Night

Today I went around a huge corner.  After having an embroidery machine for 4 years I finally did something with it.  First I had to have inspiration, enter Difference Makers.  I decided I wanted to surprise their sponsor Bryan Goehring with a logo polo shirt.  Second, I had a pattern made.  Third, I got my husband to learn how to use the darn machine.  Fourth, I got him to show me how to use it.  Finally, I stitched something, then taught Lana and she stitched one too.  Smiley  I stitched up the green one because our tee is on a green shirt and Lana stitched up the blue one because Mr. G likes blue.  Smiley

Anyhow we have an upcoming event at Special Olympics in a couple of weeks so hopefully he'll rock it then.
I will definitely be stitching up more now that I'm not so afraid of my machine.  I have tons of Urban Thread designs and Sweet Peas Place.  Hopefully I can offer some machine embroidery to my Craftster friends once I made some masks for my nephew and some shirts for our Kumu Hula.
Happy dance!

Thanks Always!  Smiley

Now it's my turn to show off the awesomeness that Averia crafted for moi!  Smiley

First she embroidered 2 wonderful tees for me.  Averia has made me tons of anatomical tees over the years and I love them all.

closeup of the awesome heart beneath.  This is a great tee since I can wear it 2 ways!  Smiley

And another rendition of her famous "wearing your heart on your sleeve" tee that I love.  Just showing the closeup here since you really can't get a sense of the awesomeness  in the whole pic since it in the middle of the sleeve.  Look at all those teeny, tiny perfect stitches!  She's a machine I tell ya!

Averia also knows how much I love photography and she not only purchased these wonderful fabrics for me, but sewed them into handy totes. Smiley  MD is trying to be as green as possible and most everyone uses their own now rather than pay the 5 cent charge for bags which is wonderful.  Anyhow I will be using these alot and thinking of you Averia everytime I do...as I do when I'm wearing your tees.  Smiley

Thank you wonderful Averia for another amazing swap!  Smiley

Received an AMAZING, and I mean AMAZING package from plaidpineapple.  She not only sent wonderfully sewn items for Difference Makers Silent Auction, but also a monetary donation.  It was truly such a kind and thoughtful package...the kind that has you smiling for weeks after.

overall shot: lovely birdie fabric purse, see-thru zipper pouch, lovely flower hair pins, knit/crochet project bag, sunglass case, sweet card, and $.  Smiley

pics of my favorite parts: the birdies and flowers

Thank you so much for all of your kindness Sandra.  I (and DM) really appreciate it.  Smiley
