Thanks everyone! It was SO easy, definitely worthwhile.

Mini tute:

1. You need: light colored leather shoes, leather dye, acetone nail polish remover, cotton balls,a cover for your surface.
2. Go over the shoes with acetone, using cotton balls, to remove old wax/polish/dye/etc
3. Use the dauber that comes with your dye to evenly coat the shoes. Allow to dry and apply again if needed.
4. Allow to dry for several days
5 Apply protective spray or wax (optional)

That's it! Super simple! I used Fiebings dye, it comes in tons of colors. It was hard to choose, but I always love red shoes. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018N93JC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks!! From now on if I can't find the color I want I will just get beige and dye them.

So do I! And you can't go wrong with red. Smiley

My feet have informed me that I am no longer allowed to wear heels over 3". This doesn't mean I don't still love me some shoes, but it does mean that I am constantly on the lookout for good quality mid/low heels that are still awesome. Enter these rather dowdy beige but incredibly comfy leather ankle strap pumps for $5 at a thrift store. They feel like a dream and looked barely worn. I have some nude shoes, but I just wasn't feeling the color on these. The style was pretty cute, but the beige and the raw heel were a little blah. So I stained the heels with some darker furniture stain and used oxblood leather dye to transform them into pretty red shoes.Voila!
