If you want to participate, information to send to Haylie, the organizer:

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Wedding Jewelry - Bride & Bridesmaids (Lots of pictures!) on: March 12, 2011 10:48:16 AM
Here is the jewelry my grandma & I made for my August 2010 wedding.  We spent a whole day designing, shopping, and constructing!

First, my necklace, Swarovski crystals and pearls:

The small pearls are off my mom's wedding dress.

It makes me smile... I use pearls from my mom's dress & made it with her mom - it's like a three generational necklace!

We also made necklaces and earrings for each of my 4 bridesmaids, and slightly different ones for my two maids of honor (My CoMOHs!)
Bridesmaid necklace:

CoMOH necklace:

Earrings:

Finally, we also made a necklace for my husband's "groomswoman." The beads match the beads on her "wrist bout" (which you can see here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=375359.msg4425457#msg4425457

I always feel slightly awkward about posting wedding crafts... It's not that I'm showing off my wedding, truly!  I just want to share my crafts!  Embarrassed
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Garters - Teal & ACU colored! on: March 12, 2011 10:18:24 AM
I made two garters for my August 2010 wedding - One to toss and one to keep!

Both garters:

Putting them on - I wore both all day!

The completely random guy who caught it (the other guys dodged! Cheesy)

And for fun - garter removal!  Shocked
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Corsages & Bouts! (Many pictures!) on: March 12, 2011 09:11:35 AM
Here are the corsages and bouts I made for my August 2010 wedding!  Our colors were teal and ivory.

I made "mini" and "supermini" coffee filter roses for the corsages. They're small versions of the ones I had in the bouquets.  The wrist corsages had wrapped ribbon "bracelets" (is there a name for that part of a wrist corsage?) They were surprisingly easy to make! Smiley

My mom's: (and me making sure it's just right!  Roll Eyes)

My gram's:

My other grandma's... hers is twisted - you can see how it ties at the bottom

My MIL's:

My husband's grandma's:

Boutonnieres!  I didn't want to use my pink-tinted coffee filter roses for the bouts, so instead I used beads that complimented/matched those I used for the bridesmaid necklaces.  My original plan for attaching the bouts was to attach flat backed pins to the back, but that didn't work... I'll never know how they managed to attach them on the day!

The groomsman bouts:

The best man (my husband's dad) had a similar one with two leaves.

The grandpa bouts:

I think my dad's was similar, but with fewer beads.  I can't find a good picture of it.

I'm especially proud of the "wrist bout" I made for our groomswoman.  It's almost a small version of the corsages, but with black ribbon and beads that matched the male bouts.  I don't have many good pictures, but I was in love with it!  Cheesy

And just for fun, me and my hubby!  As you can see, he didn't need a bout! (Although I was sewing that gold hatband two days before the wedding!  Tongue)

Thanks for looking! Smiley  If anyone is interested in knowing more about how I made the corsages/corsage band, I'd be happy to help!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Haylie's DIY Wedding Projects! (8-27-10) on: February 22, 2010 01:29:12 PM
I'm marrying the man who introduced me to craftster, so naturally I need a craftster thread to document all my DIY-wedding-awesomeness!   Cheesy

A bit about us and our wedding:
We met in high school, in the limo on the way to his prom (he's 1.75ish years older) with different dates.  We hardly spoke that evening, but later in the month when me & my date broke up, a mutual friend gave me his instant messager screenname.  We talked online for a long time, eventually started dating, dated for 4ish years, and now here we are!  Our wedding reception will actually be held in the same place as his prom. Smiley  We're both still in college (although he's thankfully almost done and I'm about to start my student teaching) so we're definitely trying to work on a budget!  Our wedding colors are a dark tealy-blue and ivory & we'll have 150 - 200 guests.

Wedding DIY Projects Done:

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Teal Flower Swirly Supernova Bedroom! (5 pictures) on: August 27, 2009 08:00:20 PM
For my little sister's 15th birthday, we redid her room!  It used be be our room, before I moved out.

Before picture:  (These are our painting clothes, by the way.  Tongue)

My concept drawing:

After!

We stenciled the swirls using contact paper and it worked AMAZINGLY well...there were a few drips, but overall it was perfect!  For the white swirls on the wall, we actually stuck the outlines of the shapes up, painted them white, then stuck the insides up over the white, then painted the walls teal, right over the contact paper.  The sides of the cube were done using "Frog Tape" - I highly recommend it, well worth the few extra bucks over regular blue painters tape.

If you're curious about the size, the center of the flower is about 11 inches in diameter, the cube is 2.5 feet each side.

It turned out even better than I imagined!  I'd post some in-progress pix too, but I think this post is probably pic-heavy enough. Tongue  Maybe later.

What do you think?  Any questions?  Cheesy

10  COOKING / Dessert / Fruit Pizza! on: July 20, 2009 01:50:26 PM
Hey craftsters!  Just wanted to show off the lovely (and SO DELICIOUS) Fruit Pizza my mom made yesterday.

The crust is sugar cookie, and the "icing" is cream cheese, vanilla, and sugar.  For this particular pizza she used nectarines, blueberries, strawberries, and kiwi.  She would've used more kinds of fruit, but I'm picky.  Tongue
