1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Re: Hoopla A-Long 2013-2014 on: September 03, 2014 02:36:26 PM
I have heard the best way to remove the transfer paper is to get as much of the excess off as possible before using water. I'm eager to find out how well it works. I purchased a sheet of Transfer-eze for a fairy project...
2  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Halloween Flowers on: July 15, 2014 07:59:38 AM
I made this last Halloween for our reception desk at my former job. (I was laid off in March. Needless to say, I have had a crap-tastic year. But thats a whole can of worms that is a long and boring story!)  We had a little old lady customer that kept trying to get me to give them to her. I had made a few other arrangements for other holidays and she kept trying to make off with those as well.

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Baby Shower Altered Altoid Tin Card on: July 15, 2014 07:53:10 AM

6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Crockpot Recipes and Tips on: January 16, 2014 11:13:50 AM
My crockpot is my 3rd most beloved small kitchen appliance (behind the electric skillet and Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer). I make pulled pork with our favorite bbq rub in it and it makes the house smell so yummy! I use boneless pork ribs (country style), rub with your favorite rub, add about 1/4 cup of cider vinegar and 1/4 cup of water, cook on low temp for about 8 hours. Serve on buns! dang it! Now I'm hungry!

I've made desserts, soups, stews, roasts (still trying to figure this one out) and corned beef in it. I broke the lid about 6 years ago and use a double layer of foil on it. I've been tempted to try the liners but I had very bad luck with the oven bags a few years ago (can we say no turkey for Thanksgiving that year Cry) so am very skittish when trying any type of liner besides foil.
7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: ok so...pigment inks. do they EVER dry?! on: January 02, 2014 07:53:31 PM
The owner of a stamp store told me: Dye is Dry and Pigment won't. I think that wiping the pigment off then heat setting the residue may work as well.
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Making wedding invitations for someone else or would you? on: January 02, 2014 10:41:36 AM
One of the ladies I work with has a daughter getting married in November. Her mom was talking to her on the phone and mentioned I have a Cricut and like to make cards and such. To which her daughter promptly asked her: Will she make my wedding invitations? I, in turn, promptly said NO WAY!!! I really have a hard time making stuff for others when its a specific request. I love to paper craft and want to do it to my taste or my way keeping the receiver in mind. But then I started to think about the fact that I love to paper craft and I like my coworker's daughter. So I asked how many she was thinking about sending and was told about 125...So my question is this: Would you consider making the invitations? And what would you charge for something like that? Because there is no way I could afford the paper cost to make that many invites for a gift. The most I have ever done was 25 for my baby sister's baby shower!
9  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Pumpkin Pie Wontons on: November 28, 2013 03:35:56 PM
