4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / art doll/dotie, sculpt and assemblage on: September 18, 2013 09:12:31 AM
hi there!i recieved an awsome tassle thing from gotgrey in a past swap and knew i had to use it for a doll, so i decided to make this hanging doll thing. it reminds me of the dotie dolls i see on here but usually the ones i see are fabric so i didn't know where this doll belongs. i sculpted her face with plain polymer and added the doll hair, then i sewed some ribbons and fabric together for a nice hat, and used some wire mesh stuff for artsy arms and ribbon and such, and of course the awsome tassle! i added wire mesh to make the tassle part poof out a lil, and luckily it is perfect lighting outside today! yippee! not a cloud in the sky!

so anyway, i am not sure what she is called, whether i should call it an art doll, and assemblage, or a dotee or whatnot, and i have nooo idea what to name it either! any ideas for a name for her?

i have one more tassle that matches, so of course i am planning on making another doll! not sure if i wil use the second one for hair on a doll or as another skirt or what! i guess we will find out though! i never plan anything, i just kindof see what comes out lol!

5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / challenge entry! polymer siemese twin art doll! on: August 13, 2013 04:31:06 PM
to me craftster means trying something new and making new friends, and making new things for the friends i have made! teehee!

this is the polymer art doll i made for lanikins for the sideshow swap! i am very craftnew to polymer clay! i litterally have only been doing it for a couple months maybe two, and bf joining craftster i didnt even know about polymer clay and now it is my favorite thing to work in!

note, yes they are supposed to look haggard and a lil creepy lol, they are tired of the sideshow biz!

this dark picture i uploaded so that you can see the teeth a lil better on the face to the left!

i really love doing this, i know she enjoys her new home with lanikins and is happy to be retired from showbiz now! lol i am happy to find my new love of sculpting that i never knew i could do! thank you craftster for helping me to make others happy while also discovering things i never knew i loved!

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / challenge entry. hand stitched beetle pouch bag on: August 13, 2013 04:02:25 PM
craftster to me means meeting new friends and trying new things. before coming to craftster i only ever painted. now i sculpt in polymer clay, sew cloth dolls and now...i tried my hand at my first hand sewn pouch bag for my daughter!

i am really nervouse as i have never entered a challenge before. but craftster has taught me that you never know what you can do until you try...so here i am , trying something again!

here is a beetlebug pouch perse i made for my daughter out of fabric and also some felt. it is big enough to hold lunch money, some lil tampons, and a phone , ipod or whatnot!

i saw a bug purse before that was alot bigger and more intricate on pinterest, not like this but it inspired me.

i hope it is creative enough for consideration!

huggles! -artista83

and as you can see the inside of the purse is in his mouth and into his belly! i tried to get a pic of stuff in his mouth but my camera died when i was going to take it so these are the ones i have. also there is velcro to close it
8  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / help! what should i price these at if i sell them on: August 12, 2013 07:53:08 PM
Moved from: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=413.0

i am hoping to start selling things soon. i gave this one in a swap. but i am making other dolls to sell but i have no idea how to price stuff. i am hoping for real number examples please! here are some things i need ideas for prices

not this doll but other ones probably not conjoined. i have 5 heads done so far for dolls. and i am selling the brushes, not as a set. all ideas appreciated. maybe scrappy dolls too but not sure , and sculpted eggs
