2  Hippogriff Hatchling in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by CraftyLadyMJ on: November 02, 2013 10:11:47 PM
I didnt use a pattern I made him up as I went along. It was very tricky because I had to try and create a plush I had never done before. I didnt use a pattern I made him as I went along, changing what I didnt like and keeping the parts I did. This went on for a week until I was happy with the end results. Then I packed him up for his new home. Smiley

pottermouth: Thumbs up to you for using that fabric and willing to start over after the iron accident. I would have scrap the project, you are a Wander Mom.

noodle-bug: I love your lady version of Edward scissor hands. Its so Halloweeny cute.

Naantje: Your first knitted mittens look great and so warm.

Inselaeffchen: Thanks, but the ties were for my swap partner pups. Its up to her now to snap a pic. You got some mad carving skills. I loving all the pumpkin carvings I have seen so far.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Fear of a Name Challenge
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Toting The Lion
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: Completing this bag was a personal craft challenges for me. I didnt use a pattern, but I did use a ruler and my blinder for a guide for the size of  the bag. Its a doubled layered bag. Knit on the outside, crochet inside and on the front pocket with the Gryffindor lion on it.  The lion pattern I crocheted is from a chart I found on google thou. The hardest part of this bag was the knitted checkered back of the bag. I had to redo it twice because getting the measurement correct was the main problem. I have never done checks with knit before or doubled layers, nor tried to combine a bag with crochet and knit. Since I have over come my personal challenge, I feel good about taking my knitting to the next level now. Also can someone tell me if my project fits in knit or crochet since it is half & half?

Here are the pictures of the items I made for my partner Back to Hogwarts package.

I made her a soft knit/crochet doubled layered Gryffindor tote bag with a front pocket.

The shop she chose was Flourish and Blotts. I made an Advance Potions and Spells journal with a pocket on the back page and a mixing stick as a bookmark.

A potion kit (bath fizzies kit) and a citrus bath fizzie ball since her chosen class was potions. I thought it would be more interesting than 12 bath fizzie balls, so I put together a kit for her and included a beginner mold.

I also included a few little fun extras for her.
-Six colorful vials for mixing potions and a student size plastic black cauldron(not shown because I forgot to take a picture of it before sending out.)
-A large potion bottle with the toxic label on it
-Sixlets gluten free chocolate candies
-Mini flavorful marshmallows
-Jelly Beans (aka Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans)

-The citrus bath fizzie is also in this pic next to the large potion bottle on the right.

Two house pride pet  crochet ties Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. You pin them on the dog collars.

Her favorite Magical Creature the Hippogriff. I sent a young hatchling Hippogriff, it still dont have any ear feathers yet or strong enough wings to fly. But this little guy still packs a mean bite, so watch out!

7  Mermaid On The Rocks Doodle Art Piece in Needlework: Completed Projects by CraftyLadyMJ on: September 02, 2013 05:01:25 PM

I enjoy doodle drawing little pictures on fabric with a needle and thread when I have a craft block. It helps me get back into the crafty mood. It's a mermaid sitting on the rocks with the city behind her, holding a blue shell in her left hand.

Jenleahlynn: Yes, very fine scales, they look great as a bracelet and love the handmade book.  Perfect timing finding your quill case, and finishing it up to take back to school with you.  Working with kids is always fun when its art, I miss my summer job at the daycare center now.

Lelyonna: You look fantastic in your costume, great pics too.

Netchez: Sweet picture frame project, and I love wall hangings great owl.

BadWolf314: I like the details you created on your wands with the glue. Im going to try that next time I make wands, but I wander how it will react to the clay

Midkiffsjoy: I love the big pompom on top of the hat and the colors are so sporty.  Also you have to give cable knitting a try, I was chicken too, but there are just so many amazing knitting projects that have cables in them and I love the detail cables create on simple projects. So I had go for it and now I can slowly knit a cable, even if it is just one cable for now. Haha.

patty_o_furniture : Cute Halloween pegs, your alien is my favorite one. Even in a bumch of monster it stands out among the rest of them. I think its time I start planning for the spooky day too.

Travelgirl: Love the stamps, I really need to have a go at stamp making too. Cute Infinity dress, and clever little shoe pocket.

Naantje: Sorry to hear you are having a hard time, but your poem is a great reminder there are people that love and care about you.

Im dropping off my Newt report, since its Friday and then off to wrapping up my last two quidditch projects so I can snap pics of everything at once and start on my swap items. I need six more rows of six squares and then hand sew everything together.
