1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 89 ENTRIES / Storage or Planter Tin Can on: August 08, 2013 01:42:08 PM
Happy Anniversary Craftster!!!

This will be my first challenge with Craftster, and my second challenge ever. I am
going to upcycle a tin can into a planter/storage container.

Supplies Needed:
Tin can
Gesso
Turquoise acrylic paint
Burlap
Scrap Fabric
Wire
Metal patina
Round nose pliers
Wire cutters
Paint brush

First take your gesso and some turquoise colored acrylic paint, and mix it together.
Dab it on the can to make a rough texture.

Now take some Mod Podge and a piece of burlap. Paint Mod Podge
around your can where you want your burlap to stick.

Wrap burlap around your can, then apply a layer of Mod Podge all over your
can, including over the burlap. Let dry.

I'm going to embellish my can with some little fabric rosettes, a
wire formed flower, and wire spirals.

First I dabbed some metal patina to the wire formed flower, and
the wire spirals, to give it some color. Then with your hot glue gun start
gluing your rosettes, wire spirals, and wire flower on top of the burlap on your can.

You can use the can for a storage container or a planter.
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Quick and Easy Fried Rice Recipe on: May 16, 2013 06:30:11 AM
I have a quick & easy recipe for homemade fried rice that is really yummy.

Ingredients needed to make this Yummy fried rice

1 Box of Minute Rice - cooked
 6 Eggs
6-8 pieces of bacon chopped (I use precooked bacon)
 3-4 green onions
 Soy sauce to taste

1. Add chopped bacon to large skillet and heat on medium heat. Once bacon is heated or (cooked, if using raw) push to one side of skillet. Then add eggs.
2. Scramble the eggs.
3. Add chopped onions and mix onions, eggs, and bacon all together.
4. Add cooked rice to skillet and mix.
5. Once everything is mixed together, add the soy sauce to taste (I don't measure, I just sprinkle, mix, and taste).

Enjoy!
