1  cardinal glass dish in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by fancybutch on: January 25, 2015 11:52:46 AM
I recently discovered 20th c illustrator Charley Harper and I just love his work.  The strong graphic animals are the best.  So I took inspiration from this Cardinal With Berries print and made a glass dish with red cardinal.  I'm pretty happy with the result. Smiley

I enjoyed making some xmas ornaments for friends in fused glass this year.  My favourite was this R2D2.

In looking for new projects to make with fused glass I ran into the idea of belt buckles.  I ordered these two antique nickel blanks off Etsy and fused pieces to put in them, each combines two different pieces of glass for texture and colour.  I found nice leather belts at a place called Bootmaster in Toronto with snaps to change buckles.

I didn't get the dimensions or shape perfect and ground them down to fit. 

Overall I was happy with these as gifts as were my friends Smiley

and mthrasher is having a tough time right now so here's what I made her (so she doesn't have to worry about a pic, Canada post tells me it arrived), it's a bride of Frankenstein tribute ninni.  (and I sent some extra swatches of fabrics)  I hope she likes it.

I spoke too soon, it's here! (glad I checked around the door again)  yay!

and it's an adorable robot dotee! with posable arms which is cool.  I love all the various parts, so unique.  The wood and cork and beads, all fabulous.

and here it is on a lovely piece of fabric in the bag as an extra

oh cute ghost! did you free hand that pattern or do you program it in somehow?

I received a fabulous mugrug from Cabaute, it's so adorable.  I love cats, and the lettering is so fun.  I have placed it in my office with the candy dish (for visitors)

I received a great package from Smeddley!

She made me this art piece, so beautifully illustrating one of the words I gave her:
psithurism; the sound of wind in trees or rustling leaves



really lovely.

And this gorgeous hoop, with buttons and stitching and beads, to illustrate
dreich; miserable, cold and wet weather




I love it, the fabric is great and the design is simple and elegant and perfect.
