1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Tag Along Tote in RedHat Fabric on: March 10, 2014 04:56:44 PM
Greetings Everyone,

A while back kbrison sent me some Red Hat Fabric, she noticed I am a red hatter. I loved the fabric and have been making small things for our group. A few wheel chair bags (which i forgot to take pics of) and now a small tote bag

It is a Terry Atkinson pattern #ATK143

I thought a few of the ladies would enjoy a special bag for our lunch-ons. I am gonna make another but here is the first

Close up of the bag

A shot of how it hangs

A shot so you can see the strap fully

I did a simple line quilting about .75 of an inch apart and at an angle. It turned out pretty nice

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Feather Braid quilt from computer image to completion on: March 08, 2014 09:58:39 AM
Greetings Everyone,

Well I got a jump start on my holiday quilts.

I did sloth's feather braid block, I did change it a bit

I used three colors not four and cut the stripes 3inches by 8.5
The square was cut 5.5
and the triangles were a 9inch square cut in half

All in all I think it is the most striking quilt I have done yet.
Is my 7th completed and 9 total (I donated two twin tops locally)

The computer plan

Complete quilt just under 80in square

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Hot Pads on: February 16, 2014 05:21:32 AM
Greetings Everyone,

After doing all the blocks for the quilt block swap rd5. I got bored LOL

So I took two of the blocks I had and made hot pads for my counter. Each has the silver backed batting (insulated). So as to redirect the heat from my counter into the bottom of the pot. I use my center island in my kitchen a lot for setting out a meal, saves room on my table.

The hex one is the Hex part of the Hexing around block. I didn't really like the white in the center once I was done with it. So I turned it into something else I could use.

The star/pinwheel block was one from round4 that was sent to me in addition to the correct size blocks and I simply loved the texas bluebonnets on it so made it useful as well.

I sewing around the edge leaving room to turn (I should of trimmed the batting at the turn point, but well learn as ya go LOL.

Then I quilted in the ditch around the ringers on the hexing block and around the colors on the star/pinwheel block
