My youngest wanted a lolita style dress, so after looking at a few of the pictures she could find of what she wanted. I went about drafting a pattern and putting it together. I don't normally do clothing. I quilt which is far far different then making clothing. She liked it so that is all that mattered

Sendouts October 20, 2014

This is not a traditional gallery, we will be posting pics of what we make, not of what we receive.  Please claim a spot.

Everyone please make one post that will be your personal gallery post that you will keep adding your pics to as you make blocks for your partners.  After everyone has a gallery, then we can start chatting about what is posted, just so we have all of the galleries at the beginning, k? I'll let you know when all the galleries are ready.   All are here and I hope I got the mistake fixed (sorry Homerof2)

I will link up the names with their gallery once everyone is here!

thanks for taking part in this round

Details of swap:
This is a swap for 12.5 inch quilt blocks*. People will be organized into groups of 5 and will send 3 blocks to each of the 4 other people in their group, for a total of 12 blocks per group. Swappers with excellent swap feedback may do more than 1 group (up to 3). Within each group it should cost about $12 total to send out to 4 people, with delivery confirmation (assuming within the US). Please keep shipping costs in mind when choosing your number of groups.

*If you fall in love with a pattern that yields a different sized block you can use it, up to 14 inches, but be sure to specify the size that it makes so that your partners aren't confused.

Everyone chooses their block or blocks that they would like made for them. It could be a specific block with an online link to the pattern or a general type (i.e., pinwheels or appliqued birds). Keep in mind that people of different skill levels are involved, so please don't pick a super advanced block unless you also pick an easier block to go with it.

You will also choose your color palette. That could be a color family, a couple of particular colors, or something as vague as "brights" or "scrappy" if you want to leave it up to the other swappers' interpretations. You maybe also/instead specify certain fabric patterns if they are vague enough, like plaid, stripe, polka dots, etc. Try to only be as specific as you need to be so that people can work from their stash as much as possible.

You must use 100% cotton fabric and press your seams as you put your blocks together, unless your partner(s) have specifically stated otherwise.

Please make sure to post in this thread to keep up with swap announcements. You will not be approved until you have posted here.

Please do not sign up until you have decided on your pattern and colors.

Communication is very important to me! You must pm your partner(s) and myself when you send out and receive.  There will also be communication among your group: please respond to questions within a few days.
