2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Panda Bag on: May 28, 2015 12:19:40 PM
thanks everyone,

Yes it is a small bag roughly 3 by 6 inches. its to hold things that feel special to a person or use as a card holder.
the strap comes off and can be worn as a necklace.

and yes i started with a pattern then made some changes and worked out the layout in beadtool 4.0

i started it right before the christmas normally they do not take me that long but have done nearly 30hrs on my degree the last two terms so that takes most of my time

well and wonderment

5  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Ironing Board stand in on: May 15, 2015 03:33:14 AM
There is a fold up iron cloth that you can get at most stores that seal irons. Or make one yourself. use the heat insulated backing and a thin batting and cloth for the top. That way you can make it the size you want

below a few links to different how to do sites and a pattern for one. do a search for how to make an ironing mat

I finished the dress, my daughter liked it.
sewing clothing is far different then quilting. I learned a lot about drafting a pattern and fitting a garment, far more then I ever wanted to learn.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My daughters dress on: April 11, 2015 05:34:20 PM
My youngest wanted a lolita style dress, so after looking at a few of the pictures she could find of what she wanted. I went about drafting a pattern and putting it together. I don't normally do clothing. I quilt which is far far different then making clothing. She liked it so that is all that mattered

Wow!  You guys were busy over the weekend!  Great stuff!!
Just what I was thinking!
Kookaloo, your tunic seems very light and airy, perfect for a hot summer day. Maybe your husband would like it better if it were a bit smaller, as more fitted. I don't like fitted clothing very much myself and rather enjoy flowing tops that let air around my body. Do what you like, you're the one who will be wearing it!
Smeddley, I had never heard of crocheted mandala. It's beautiful.
Vampedangel14, the flowery letters are the best!
That1girl, the crayon lip gloss have beautiful colors but what is crayon lip gloss? Does it have crayon in it?
Underthemountain, your bunny is adorable. You chose such an ideal yarn for it.
Carolmb, I would love to go dancing with such a dress. I'm impressed by your pattern talents. Did you manage to draft a pattern for your daughter while she was away?
I like how crisp your baskets are Cursivequeen. Of course, the quilt is pretty rad too!

No this is for the youngest the one finishing high school this year. It was hard enough trying to do a pattern with the child here, I would of been pulling my hair out more so trying to do for the one away at college lol

with my class load this term I haven't finished most of the projects I have started.
Two quilts in the works
One bead bag in the works
One dress for my daughter in the works
I had no pattern, just a few images she had sent me in order to try and come up with something. I had to draft  a pattern which I had never done and go from there
below is out far I have gotten so far. It's in a lolita style?
Still have more layers to put on it. and a bow and whatever else she comes up with lol
