1  Re: Woodland Creature & Enchanted Forest Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by silentblair on: July 01, 2014 02:31:21 PM
I got such an amazing package from Jillybeans yesterday!

Here, let me share with you...

It's hard to pick a favorite, I love it all! But to let you in on a secret I danced around the house with my cool new
UNICORN PILLOW!

Yeah, it totally says "I Poop Magic"!

Then she made the best
HONEY BADGER FELT BADGE!!!

I'm sewing on a pin backing today so I can wear it as a totem of fearlessness. You know...because "Honey Badger don't care".

Then a perfectly stitched
GNOME SWEET GNOME stitchery!

This is going right by my front door entry. Can't get over the awesomeness here!

Then the ever thoughtful Ms Jilly sent me some beautiful yarn she thought I could make use of and a Mario Mushroom for some extras!

I will put good use to this and that mushroom rules! After I finish the candy inside, I'll find an excellent use for it!

Thank you for everything Jillybeans, you've been an incredibly fun partner!

2  Re: Prayer Flag Swap Rd 4 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by silentblair on: May 13, 2014 10:39:56 AM
Congrats on the new 3DS and addition to the family CMB!

I received 2 new Flags for my collection yesterday from Alwaysinmyroom...
and as always...
They are so fantastic!

I'm loving the grey/charcoal tones for "Speak Kindly"!
The "Let's make the most of this beautiful day" is inspired by the Mr. Rogers song at the end of each show.
Whenever I hear it a sense of calm always washes over me.
Now, everytime I look at it, I get that earworm in my head and am instantly calm!

My family thanks you for this Ms. L!
I thank you too. You are a very sweet lady and I always enjoy being your partner.  Smiley

3  Tea Cup Cozy! in Crochet: Completed Projects by silentblair on: April 17, 2014 10:51:41 AM
I wanted to share a little Mug Cozy I hooked up for Donniesgirl in the I <3 Tea Swap!

The pattern is from Rhonda Greene on Ravelry,
""Cup of Tea" Coffee Mug Cozy with Non-Slip Backing"
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cup-of-tea-coffee-mug-cozy-with-non-slip-backing

I left off the non-slip backing.
I just thought the Tea Bag string and Tag was so cute I had to give it a try!

Thanks for checking it out!

4  Let it GLOW! in Needlework: Completed Projects by silentblair on: April 10, 2014 02:07:42 PM
I had just signed up for the Frozen Swap and KNEW my daughter would be hounding me for
the things I would be making my partner.
So...
To placate her I stitched up an Elsa Hoop while waiting for partners.

It was fun to incorporate shiny silver floss for the sleeve detail and cape...even if it's not the easiest thing to work with.

And for the "GLOW" part in the title of this post?
HER HAIR...IT GLOWS!

Because Elsa, Anna, and Rapunzel are cousins right?

Thanks for checking out Morgan's Elsa Hoopla!!!

5  Nerdtastic Mugs! (pic heavy) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by silentblair on: April 03, 2014 08:18:21 AM
So it's been brought to my attention I've been making quite a few mugs for swaps lately...
I thought I could share them with you fine people!

Note: Both sides of mugs are pictured

Trust Snape...Always.

Supernatural Sippys

Doctor Who: The Silence of the Mugs

Breathe Easy, the Goonies are Here

Totoro needs Coffee while waiting for CatBus

I did most of these with the OIL BASED sharpie marker (regular sharpies just wash off after baking). Otherwise I used a traditional ceramic marker.
A huge thing with the Sharpie Mug Tutorials: Nowhere do they mention the stink fumes released into your home.
Make sure to open a few windows!

6  Re: Frozen Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by silentblair on: April 01, 2014 08:43:43 PM
I received an incredible package of Frosty Frozen Goodness from GrindHouseHussy19 today!!!

She spoiled me and my kids rotten and a warning...LOTS of pictures follow.  Wink

2 amazing Hooplas!

LOVE that she color coordinated the hoops with the stitcherys.

2 mug rugs, a record bowl, mason jar votive, and Elsa Art = awesome!

She made the Elsa Art specifically for my Daughter who swooned!

Scrabble Coasters, and Imagine Foam Sign, Button Keychains, Friendship Pins, Scrabble "ELSA" Magnets, and a Mickey Mouse Water Bottle!

I'm so loving all of this. The Friendship pins took me waaaay back. I may have to add these to my shoelaces and break out my swatch watch. (Who am I kidding, I wear a swatch everyday anyway  Grin) The coasters are really cool, I think anything scrabble related rules.

Button Pin and Button Magnet Palooza!

These are so well made, I'm in awe of the skillz. The beauty Fuzz the Buttons are resting on is the softest cowl ever. I can see Elsa sporting one just like it, but just for looks...the cold never bothers her anyway.  Grin Grin Grin

Then my favorite thing...
A Tea Chest!!!

I'm currently in a "swiper" war with my daughter over this item. Swiper no swiping!
She doesn't even drink tea. That 7 year old is sneaky.

Then...
We agreed on extras!
Both of us are Doctor Who and Adventure Time fans to the core so...

Crazy awesome Whovian Buttons! My husband is quite enamored with the Powerpuff Doctor Set. I've got those sticking to the hood over the oven. Otherwise my fridge is adorned to the hilt! There are some Pins on some of the buttons too. My collection just got 50% cooler!
The Ice King Art was arted up for my son. He's a sucker for Simon!

There's just so much (I hope I didn't leave any items out) and I feel really special GrindHouseHussy19 took the time to spoil me and the minions.
Thank you G, for being my partner. I have been having such a blast getting to know you better!

7  Re: Disney Frozen Swap (send by 3/31) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by silentblair on: March 18, 2014 07:03:12 PM

The weather took a major left turn away from spring today...but super appropriate for the day we get to bring Frozen home to watch.

We just finished our 2nd viewing of the day.

Crafty news:
I'm trying to figure out how to disassemble something.
Also, gearing up for an item I've never attempted before.
This could go either way!

8  Re: Box of Sunshine Gallery (SO Feb 17) in The Swap Gallery by silentblair on: February 25, 2014 08:43:08 AM
I received from SonjaBoo and it was the sunniest sunshiny package ever!

The Box EXPLODED open like a supernova!

Here's the stuff all spread out:

I kind of took pictures in Quadrants as there was soooo much amazingness to behold!

Did you see that BERT HOOPLA! I think that's gotta be my favorite.
I love the note cards and envelopes too, oh and the little flower pendant necklace inside a Bee Pouch!!!
Pretty fabric, whimsies, hair pins and stickers...oh my was I spoiled.  Wink
Let us not overlook the FELTED SOAPS! I've never had one before and they look so pretty!

I know I'm forgetting something, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for this great package.
Thank you SonjaBoo! It's been a blast getting to know you!

9  Calvin and Hobbes Triple Threat! in Needlework: Completed Projects by silentblair on: February 21, 2014 11:37:54 AM
I stitched these up for SevsOnlyGirl for the Affirmation Swap...
And they were INCREDIBLY hard to send away!

I did the Big one with the quote in color to signify "Sunday Comics":

The smaller ones I kept black and white to pay homage to "Weekday Comics":

I loved stitching these up for Sevs and am so glad they found a good home!

Thanks for checking them out  Wink

10  Bee Happy in Needlework: Completed Projects by silentblair on: February 20, 2014 08:19:57 PM
I stitched this up for SonjaBoo in the Sunshine Swap.
I think we all need a cheerful summer bee just about now with this horrid winter!

I had to do it a bit off center as the fabric was a bit small to do anything else with.
The fabric also had a honeycomb vibe for me, so I felt I couldn't *not* use it.  Wink
I used the waste canvas for the words.

Thanks for checking out my little bee.
Here's to a quick arriving spring!
