1  Re: IYP 26: So you think you can craft! Gallery in The Swap Gallery by silentblair on: September 23, 2014 10:01:26 AM
I got a plethora of amazing things from SonjaBoo yesterday!
I'm still gushing about it...

Here's a group shot (missing one thing)

And the one missing thing from the group shot is An Amazing Woodland Wreath!

Just look at all the tiny woodland magic! I'm such a sucker for red and white polka dot mushrooms.  Wink

Speaking of being a sucker for things...

From the show "Psych" our heroes, Shawn and Gus, tell each other in various ways to in fact Suck it. this made me giggle with glee! I think I have just enough room on the Hoopla wall beside the psych hoop Averia made me years ago! LOVE!
The Fabric Flower Pin is so adorable and the shade of red is perfect for me.  Cool
There's also a Gonzo Necklace Pendant and it's already been strung and I'm wearing it right now! I think I'll have chicken for dinner. Not Camilla though, that would be cruel.

Next, my Invisible Jet will have to be parked in the garage as I will be spending my day hanging my new Crafty Cave sign!

I've been calling my craft room The Crafty Cave due to
1. It's in the basement and doesn't get much natural light.
2. It would give me the excuse to exclaim Batman-Style "To the Crafty Cave, Old Chum!"
I'm dying over this sign!
SonjaBoo also made the coolest Wonder Woman Notebook. It's in my bag already.
Then some amazing tape! I've been collecting all sorts of tapes lately. I should display them somewhere....Holy Tape Batman, another project!

Some insanely amazing extras:
Girl Scout Badges, An envelope full of zippers from her horde, and Belly Dancing Trims!
These will get LOTS of use!

Lastly, a beautiful Tea Wall Art that goes with my kitchen impeccably and 2 Prayer Flags!

I can't wait to string the Flags with my growing collection. They are LOVELY!!!
The Wall Art is crazy touching. SonjaBoo is so talented and this is right up my decorating alley!

Thanks ever so much, SonjaBoo, for being my partner.
I really loved crafting for you and am really happy to have made a friend!

2  Re: A Game of Thrones Swap S/O aug 9 GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by silentblair on: September 18, 2014 10:54:20 AM
Yesterday I got the goods from IsikkahJai.
I was so impressed with the awesomeness I found within!

There are 3 major items in this picture.
A beautiful Lannister Crochet ruffle scarf, Lady of the Light Veil Hip Belt, and Stark Black Lace and Zipper Wrist Cuffs!

I requested some belly dancing items as I'm trying to build up my costume arsenal.
I took the pictures after Dance Class last night and the other dancers were crazy jealous.
One even threatened to mug me for the Veil Belt!  Wink
I love how it goes perfectly with my green Harem Pants!

A Tyrion Puzzle! with a cool dragon scale Clutch!

Too clever by far...just like My Tyrion.  Grin

An Icy Tree of Life Pendant to always remind me Winter is Coming!

This is really cool! (get it? HA!)

And speaking of Winter is Coming, all sorts of supplies to get me ready for it!

I giggled at this so much. Super clever!

Thank you so very much, IsikkahJai!
I sincerely love everything you sent!!!

3  Re: A Game of Thrones Swap S/O aug 9 GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by silentblair on: August 19, 2014 12:13:23 PM
My esteemed partner, IsikkahJai, received a while back and I thought I'd share with you what I made!

First up: Rhaegal Dragon Mitts!

I crocheted some crocodile stitch fingerless mitts for these and to get the "copper underbelly" I weaved in a novelty "yarn".

Next: To Be Used in case of...Others
Sadly, the jar didn't survive the trip from the North to the Westerlands...But thank goodness the dragonglass/obsidian is still in one piece!

Then: Dany and Khal Cache

This was my first-ish foray into painting/wall art. I have one big "oopsie", but I'm not going to drink the Tears of Lys over it or anything.
Dany and Khal Amigurumis....they were a strange journey. I couldn't quite find a pattern I liked and the one I ended up using made this gourd-type shape, so I ran with it.

And then there's: Arya Laughing at the Hound Mug

I've seen the first 3 seasons, but read all the books: So when IsikkahJai said one of her favorite scenes was when Sandor/Arya reach The Vale and are told they won't find what they're looking for...I ran to the Youtube...then Arya laughs...the Hound looked so dejected! Love this show to bits!!!

And lastly: Tyrion Silhouette Hoopla
Hand stitched! Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have. I'd forgotten to snap one with the rest of the items! EEK!
I found this pic on my phone which I texted to a friend. I had to crop the image as the other whitish hoop is for the IYP Swap. Wouldn't want to spoil a surprise!!!

Psst! IsikkahJai, if you have a better/more clear pic please post it!

I sure am glad I was able to make this stuff for IsikkahJai! She was super-fun to craft for!

I got such an amazing package from Jillybeans yesterday!

Here, let me share with you...

It's hard to pick a favorite, I love it all! But to let you in on a secret I danced around the house with my cool new

Yeah, it totally says "I Poop Magic"!

Then she made the best

I'm sewing on a pin backing today so I can wear it as a totem of fearlessness. You know...because "Honey Badger don't care".

Then a perfectly stitched

This is going right by my front door entry. Can't get over the awesomeness here!

Then the ever thoughtful Ms Jilly sent me some beautiful yarn she thought I could make use of and a Mario Mushroom for some extras!

I will put good use to this and that mushroom rules! After I finish the candy inside, I'll find an excellent use for it!

Thank you for everything Jillybeans, you've been an incredibly fun partner!

Congrats on the new 3DS and addition to the family CMB!

I received 2 new Flags for my collection yesterday from Alwaysinmyroom...
and as always...
They are so fantastic!

I'm loving the grey/charcoal tones for "Speak Kindly"!
The "Let's make the most of this beautiful day" is inspired by the Mr. Rogers song at the end of each show.
Whenever I hear it a sense of calm always washes over me.
Now, everytime I look at it, I get that earworm in my head and am instantly calm!

My family thanks you for this Ms. L!
I thank you too. You are a very sweet lady and I always enjoy being your partner.  Smiley

6  Tea Cup Cozy! in Crochet: Completed Projects by silentblair on: April 17, 2014 10:51:41 AM
I wanted to share a little Mug Cozy I hooked up for Donniesgirl in the I <3 Tea Swap!

The pattern is from Rhonda Greene on Ravelry,
""Cup of Tea" Coffee Mug Cozy with Non-Slip Backing"

I left off the non-slip backing.
I just thought the Tea Bag string and Tag was so cute I had to give it a try!

Thanks for checking it out!

7  Let it GLOW! in Needlework: Completed Projects by silentblair on: April 10, 2014 02:07:42 PM
I had just signed up for the Frozen Swap and KNEW my daughter would be hounding me for
the things I would be making my partner.
To placate her I stitched up an Elsa Hoop while waiting for partners.

It was fun to incorporate shiny silver floss for the sleeve detail and cape...even if it's not the easiest thing to work with.

And for the "GLOW" part in the title of this post?

Because Elsa, Anna, and Rapunzel are cousins right?

Thanks for checking out Morgan's Elsa Hoopla!!!

8  Nerdtastic Mugs! (pic heavy) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by silentblair on: April 03, 2014 08:18:21 AM
So it's been brought to my attention I've been making quite a few mugs for swaps lately...
I thought I could share them with you fine people!

Note: Both sides of mugs are pictured

Trust Snape...Always.

Supernatural Sippys

Doctor Who: The Silence of the Mugs

Breathe Easy, the Goonies are Here

Totoro needs Coffee while waiting for CatBus

I did most of these with the OIL BASED sharpie marker (regular sharpies just wash off after baking). Otherwise I used a traditional ceramic marker.
A huge thing with the Sharpie Mug Tutorials: Nowhere do they mention the stink fumes released into your home.
Make sure to open a few windows!

I received an incredible package of Frosty Frozen Goodness from GrindHouseHussy19 today!!!

She spoiled me and my kids rotten and a warning...LOTS of pictures follow.  Wink

2 amazing Hooplas!

LOVE that she color coordinated the hoops with the stitcherys.

2 mug rugs, a record bowl, mason jar votive, and Elsa Art = awesome!

She made the Elsa Art specifically for my Daughter who swooned!

Scrabble Coasters, and Imagine Foam Sign, Button Keychains, Friendship Pins, Scrabble "ELSA" Magnets, and a Mickey Mouse Water Bottle!

I'm so loving all of this. The Friendship pins took me waaaay back. I may have to add these to my shoelaces and break out my swatch watch. (Who am I kidding, I wear a swatch everyday anyway  Grin) The coasters are really cool, I think anything scrabble related rules.

Button Pin and Button Magnet Palooza!

These are so well made, I'm in awe of the skillz. The beauty Fuzz the Buttons are resting on is the softest cowl ever. I can see Elsa sporting one just like it, but just for looks...the cold never bothers her anyway.  Grin Grin Grin

Then my favorite thing...
A Tea Chest!!!

I'm currently in a "swiper" war with my daughter over this item. Swiper no swiping!
She doesn't even drink tea. That 7 year old is sneaky.

We agreed on extras!
Both of us are Doctor Who and Adventure Time fans to the core so...

Crazy awesome Whovian Buttons! My husband is quite enamored with the Powerpuff Doctor Set. I've got those sticking to the hood over the oven. Otherwise my fridge is adorned to the hilt! There are some Pins on some of the buttons too. My collection just got 50% cooler!
The Ice King Art was arted up for my son. He's a sucker for Simon!

There's just so much (I hope I didn't leave any items out) and I feel really special GrindHouseHussy19 took the time to spoil me and the minions.
Thank you G, for being my partner. I have been having such a blast getting to know you better!

10  Re: Disney Frozen Swap (send by 3/31) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by silentblair on: March 18, 2014 07:03:12 PM

The weather took a major left turn away from spring today...but super appropriate for the day we get to bring Frozen home to watch.

We just finished our 2nd viewing of the day.

Crafty news:
I'm trying to figure out how to disassemble something.
Also, gearing up for an item I've never attempted before.
This could go either way!
