1  Re: Little Visitor Round 17 - Summer Vacation! in The Swap Gallery by stefaniegk on: October 10, 2013 12:26:22 PM
Violet Anne made it home safely with a box full of goodies! She had quite the trip. I also want to know about another round, I find myself reaching for AD to take his photo.

A photo album turned scrapbook, brochures and playbills from the various places they went, a new bellydancing skirt, my favorite a purple tiara, a blue drop to squeeze, a few ducks, and some odds n ends.

What a great swap!

7  Sesame Street Wall Hanging in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by stefaniegk on: August 12, 2013 03:42:32 AM
Sesame Street Math Hanging

Materials Used:
Paper
Coloring pages
Tape
Colored pencils

I used a large piece of paper and taped it to the door with packing tape. I printed coloring pages offline and hand colored them in using colored pencils. I cut them to fit the cards that were going to be in them. I taped the pictures to the large piece of paper using the packing tape straight on top of them. I left a small row untapped at the top of each picture so I could put the cards in the pockets.

8  Dalek Pincushion and Psychic Paper needle book Tutorial in Completed Projects by stefaniegk on: August 12, 2013 03:28:14 AM
Dalek Pincushion Tutorial

Materials Used:
Felt, black and brown
Embroidery thread
Needles
Pins
Fiberfill

I used the paper pattern from gfoyle on deviantart to make my Dalek pincushion. I cut out the paper pattern and pinned it to pieces of felt. I did not cut the tabs out of the felt. I did cut the large pieces to go in between the body but did not end up using them. I only used the bottom piece. I cut those out and then embroider the designs straight through the paper onto the felt. I then carefully cut and pulled the pieces of paper off.

I stitched the top piece to the middle piece and then closed up the back. I stitched the large bottom piece around the middle piece and then closed it up the back. I closed the head up by folding the pieces over and stitching through them.

I attached the bottom of the Dalek and stitched up until I had a small hole. I stuffed the Dalek with fiberfill and closed the hole.

I pushed pins in all around the Dalek and used three colored ones for his arms and eye stalk.

Psychic Paper Needle book Tutorial

Material Used:
Felt, black and white
Embroidery thread

I traced around a small book I received from the bank to get the right size and shape of the book.

I cut out the cover and then cut out the three inside sheets (this doubles and becomes six).

I used a running stich up the binding of the book to attach the three sheets. I trimmed the white pages a little to make them smaller than the outside.

9  Art Journals in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by stefaniegk on: August 12, 2013 02:56:25 AM
Craftster means to me:

Inspiration, Ideas, Encouragement, and Community. I created an art journal to keep track of all my ideas and inspiration and then I created one to give away.

Using inspiration from the internet (I just typed in art journals and looked at the pictures.) I took a black and white composition notebook and played with it.

Materials Used:
Composition notebooks
Mod Podge
Martha Stewart magazines
Old calendars
Tissue paper
Wax paper

I used Mod Podge to glue three sheets of the notebook together at a time, on some of the top sheets I then glued down pages from magazines. I put pieces of wax paper in between each set of three so that I could do multiple pages at a time. I covered the outside covers but left the insides because I always loved filling out that information when I was a kid.

I recommend only doing a few sets of pages at a time, the Mod Podge takes a while to dry in the binding.  You will use a lot of Mod Podge, I went through an entire large bottle.
