1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Junker Jane-style Dolls 3 - GALLERY on: February 12, 2016 11:45:52 AM
It's so good to see her again Grin!  I tototaly fell in love while I was working on her.  She's based on cmarion3's "Your familiar (animal of your choice)" on her like list.  Trouble was, I feel kinship with so many animals LOL, so I didn't have any troubles coming up with lots of different options Grin.  The base animal is a tiger however, so I used stripy fabrics for much of it.  I also wanted to use Hobbs as inspiration, so I made the body long in his honor.  I tried to not think about the other parts when I was making a body bit.  And I think I used every glow type I have, spray paint, fabric puffy paint (3), glow fabric, regular glow paints (2 i think), glow embroidery thread, and glow FIMO.  I'm still having trouble takeing glow pics, but here's this attempt..

I used the firework setting on my camera which has a super long exposure time, so it was hard to get an unfuzzy pic Grin

and Thanks curiousfae Grin

I guess it depends a bit on how shear the overlay fabric is then.  Personally, I'm not so good at zippers, so I think it would be hard to put in where it hangs strait.  If it's, not very see through, then it would be easier..I think..

My turn!  My turn!! Grin

Cmarion3's wee critter made it to my house (well...PObox first..) today, and it's just right for me Grin  She made me an  Aye Aye!

I tempted her to swap a few extras with an offer of Kinder Eggs Grin.  She sent me the cute tiny gnome house...or is it a fae house?  She also sent a little magical door, which is awesome Grin.  Our house was the last owners project, and there are a few little holes sprinkled around.  Now I just have to pick a hole one that I see all the time Grin

I love the little details of my new wee pet.  Here's a close up of his clever teeth.  I also love the double earnings.  Who knew  Aye Aye were so fancy Grin

Thanks so much Cmarion3 Grin.  I promise to take excellent care of him/her (not sure how to tell the sex of an  Aye Aye...)
And THANKS Smmarrt for the fun swap Grin

AH!  So the dress will be acting as the slip then?  In that case, sewing it to the waist band and covering it with the sash should work.  It could make it tighter..hhmm...could you sew it to the sash perhaps?

Good idea to sew it to the sash. Alternatively, I guess, I could add an invisible zipper to the back?

Depends on how shear you want the overlay to be I suppose.  Where is the zipper on the main part of the dress?

"old profession as an adult entertainer costume maker (I was the costume maker, not the adult entertainer...c'mon...get your mind out of the gutter...)"

Gutter??...?!!?...Waaaittt...you mean I should stop working on my new costume making show??  I mean I'm old AND entertaining, so I thought that sounded like an awesome new profession! Grin

OKies, now that I got that out of my system...It's adorable AIMR Grin.  I can't tell whether she is gritty and dark, or is she stern and austere?  Which ever she is so CUTE! Grin

Love it edelC..because I complealty understand what you are saying!  It seems I'm spending 1/2 my time these days feeling like the (#@%$*&^!!) change would be easier if I was changing into a werewolf or something even worse.  Mine has gotten a bit better recently by takeing primrose oil just so ya know....but just a bit LOL.  I keep trying to remind my self that eventually, it will be so worth it Grin.  I'm sooo looking forward to the end of the monthly horror movie moments Grin

I stopped sewing cloths as I got tired of cutting out two left (or right..) arms, and not figuring it out till I sewed it on Grin.

Patraw, that kid was just very perceptive.  We all know you're a craft ninja here Grin
