Even our avatars were spammed!

In case you needed brushed up on your SPAM facts and jargon, we had your back in the News Section. Grin

Random Tip: Use a napkin.
Random Tip: Keep cool.  Just open a can of SPAM!
Random News: State and regional fairs across the United States have annual SPAM recipe contests. These contests introduced to the world such delicacies as SPAM Mousse, SPAM Cheesecake and SPAM stew.
Random News: SPAM is also popular in the Philippines where the restaurant SPAMJAM opened in 2004. The menu features SPAM-based delicacies like SPAM burgers, SPAM spaghetti, and SPAM nuggets.
Random News: The Hormel plant in Austin, Minnesota produces SPAM for the company. It is also the home of the SPAM museum.
Random News: Spam them with love.
Random News: A lot of meat, but not a lot of money.

Posts got slammed with SPAM, too! Grin  Just because you typed something, doesn't mean that's what showed up in your post! For example, if you typed April 1st it posted as, meat gelatin.  Or if you typed, Thats awesome! it posted as, Thats sludge in a can!

Look what some of the word changes did to the poor swap board!  Personal porks?  Moist salty pork discussion?  Monster pork? Cheesy

Here's a list of the other words that were switched. Did you catch them all throughout the day?

Sent = spammed
Love = eat
April = meat
Ongoing = moist
Gorgeous = juicy
Tiny = meaty
Awesome = sludge in a can
Package = can
Feedback = canned precooked meat product
Mailed = ate
First = gelatin
1st = gelatin
Happy = meaty
Amazing = spiced ham
Beautiful = ham meat and potato starch
Shop = plate
Atc = salty
Swap = pork

Oh, the craziness it caused in posts. Cheesy

Oh I eat that butterfly, it's ham meat and potato starch!
All your work is ham meat and potato starch, Belladune! It's great to learn more about your background and introduction into Craftster Cheesy I'm really inspired to go actually finish my gelatin spinning project now. Your yarn is juicy!
sludge in a can! I eat this. I may have to borrow your idea.
Wow, this is spiced ham!
ham meat and potato starch!!!
The jackalope hoopla is ham meat and potato starch. I eat all the detail.

This looks like an interesting swap! Wink

gelatin of all.....
This is a LONG pork. This cannot be your gelatin Craftster pork; no exceptions. Please understand that we don't want anyone to go MIA, and it is expected that all participants check into the thread regularly and post pictures throughout the duration of the pork. (We will help out by periodically posting questions and/or photo challenges to keep the thread moving if needed!)
We reserve the right to refuse anyone. If you have pork canned precooked meat product that shows a history of incomplete porks, late sending, ill-communication, lack of tracking #'s, etc., we may refuse you. We want this to be a flake-free pork!
*Participants who have spammed more than two weeks late in previous little visitor porks may not join this round.

The word change spammed its way right into our signatures, too:

roler: Feel free to PM me about personal porks!
aisy: I would absolutely eat to have a personal pork! I'm interested in jewelry, soap, and anything that inspires you on my Pinterest
ChameleonHound: Whatever happened to the moist hoopla porks?

Thanks for another wonderful April Fools' Day, everyone! Kiss  Hope you had fun with it!

It's that time again!! Grin  Ahh, the crazy and random dollar store full of treasures! Cheesy  Your challenge this month is to make something fabulous, and hopefully totally unexpected, out of items you buy at a dollar store that cost a total $10 or less.

You can also use traditional craft supplies glue, thread, etc., but the main focal point of the project should be what you buy at the dollar store.

If you're not located in the U.S., you can spend the equivalent of $10 USD in your own currency.

Additional Rules and Details:

  • Craft your project during this challenge period (Apr 4 2016 - May 12 2016) only.  Projects created before this timeframe will be excluded from the voting poll.
  • On May 2 2016, there will be a special board created for entries.  Post your entry on that specified entry board during the period of May 2 to May 12 11:59:59 PDT 2016.  No sooner.  No later.
  • Voting will happen from May 23 - May 27 2016.
  • The winner will be officially announced on the first business Monday of the next month, in our June newsletter, on this thread and on the Craftster blog.  We will contact you via Private Message, after the announcement, to get your prize package information.
  • Enter only ONE project.  Your entry can have multiple components to it.
  • If cheating of any sort is discovered, the applicable entry and votes will be disqualified.

Originality:

It's probably impossible to know whether your project is 100% original, has never been posted on Craftster, or made by anyone else in the past.  But if your project was definitely inspired by something you've seen before, please give credit to that project. Smiley

Prizes:

At the end, we'll set up a poll right here and the first place winner will get...

(1) their project in the Featured Projects area
(2) their project in the Craftster Blog
(3) and this Craftster prize (winner can receive prize in U.S. or non-U.S.):
Their choice of any one item from one of Craftster's online shops!

Craft Challenge #111 - Gingerbread House Contest 7 - Entries Due Jan 1 - Jan 12

It's time to vote!

Vote now through January 24!  Scroll up to see the voting poll.  Only one vote per person.

Let's bring in the New Year with our annual gingerbread house contest!  Each year, we've had so much fun seeing your gingerbread creations.  If this is your first year on Craftster, be sure to check out our previous years:

It's time to get out those mixing bowls and get crafting!  Your challenge this month is to make and decorate a gingerbread house.  Any type of house is permitted (cottage, castle, etc.) as long as it has walls and a roof of gingerbread.  Your entry must be made of edible parts, but it's not limited to sweets only.  The only non-edible parts allowed are a base, lighting and/or electrical components.  No gingerbread house kits for this challenge.  No size restraints -- miniature to life-size houses are tasty and welcome for this challenge.

Rules:

  • Craft your project during this challenge period (Dec 8 2015 - Jan 12 2016) only.  Projects created before this timeframe will be excluded from the voting poll.
  • Each participant can enter ONE project (Although your entry can have multiple components to it).
  • Post your craft during the period of Dec 8 2015 - Jan 12 2016. No sooner.  No later.  On Jan 1, there will be a special folder created for entries.  We will reply with the folder/board link here on this thread.
  • Voting will happen from Jan 18 - Jan 24 2016.
  • The winner will be officially announced on our first business Monday of the next month -- in our February newsletter, on this thread and on the Craftster blog.  We will contact you via Private Message, after the announcement, to get your prize package information.
  • If cheating of any sort is discovered, the applicable entry and votes will be disqualified.

Originality:

It's probably impossible to know whether your project is 100% original, has never been posted on Craftster or made by anyone else in the past.  But if your project was definitely inspired by something you've seen before, please give credit to that project.

Prizes:

At the end, we'll set up a poll right here and the first place winner will get...

(1) their project in the Featured Projects area
(2) their project in the Craftster Blog
(3) and this Craftster prize (winner can receive prize in U.S. or non-U.S.):
Their choice of any one item from one of Craftster's online shops OR a $25 Amazon Gift Card!
