It's Snack & Share Day at baby.sweets4ever's school today and here's what we whipped up for the occasion! They're super simple and a fun nod to Earth Day.Supplies
Mix your batter per package instructions. I use a box muffin mix
for his school muffins. It's free of common allergens, really yummy and has a hint of vanilla. Perfect for the kiddos.
Separate the batter into two bowls. Add blue food coloring to one bowl and green to the other. Mix thoroughly.
Sporadically layer the two colors into your cupcake liners. I use an ice cream scoop for one and a Ziploc bag, with the corner snipped, for the other. The bag allows me to direct the color easily.
Once all of your liners are nearly full, use a toothpick to swirl the color around on the top of each muffin. This creates the swirls of land and water on top of the muffins.
While your muffins are baking, create your toppers. On a piece of white 8x11.5" cardstock, print these free toppers I created for you
. Click the link or image below for the full-size print. Save and print it. They are also attached at the bottom of this post.
You can use a 2" punch to remove them or just snip them out with scissors.
Use a small piece of washi or clear tape to attach your snazzy toppers to toothpicks.
Stab them with the toppers.
