I love the OZ one. You are so rad, D.

Looks good. You'll be hooked from now on. What kind of yarn is it?

Oh, this was my favorite. So much planning. I had to share it with my husband. So much detail, you did a good job Mom.
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Re: Hoopla A-Long 2013-2015 on: November 02, 2015 07:05:41 AM
You guys all astound me. The little fairy, the Bride, Punkin Head, Wee punkin... If only there was enough time and motivation to reach me. And if only I could keep my hoops up on the wall! The command strips aren't working any more... Sad
6  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Belladunes Spinzilla 2015 thread on: October 16, 2015 07:47:30 AM
I didn't spin along (obviously) but I am so glad you got to spin the week through. Those yarns are lovely. I'm seriously jealous of the time you have to spin.
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Wherein B1K makes a baby quilt, and discovers that binding sucks on: September 04, 2015 06:42:21 AM
I think the problem was the satin. Binding can be a PITA but so is satin. Mix them together and ugh. I don't mind binding so much, other than it's tedious but not really portable, but I cringe just thinking about doing it in satin.
This quilt looks like fun, either way though. As long as it's functional. I love the quilting. I still don't do that on my machine, even just for wonky stripes like this. (the wonkiness adds loveliness, btw!)

Thanks again for the kind words, everyone!

I am glad it's done, but it was so much fun. I would totally do it again sometime. I have enough alpaca left, I may do it again with a different scheme. Love it!
I would love to see how they knit up, too. Too bad I don't knit!
The right kind of anything is great, even sh*t has a nice side. We have found sh*t's "silver lining," and it is rainbow colored.
Thanks for the kind words, y'all.
10  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Unicorn Sh*t on: August 31, 2015 04:23:29 PM

I've been working on this for over a year.
I started with some local, white alpaca, dyed it with Easter colors,

carded it into fluffy, sparkly batts,

And spun it into thick n' thin yarn!

I made a total of 22 batts, from 1.8 oz to 2.8 oz each.
These 3 are 9oz @ 290 yds, 8.3oz @ 290 yds, and 9oz @ 270 yds.
I have another drying that is 10oz @ 245 yds
and another still on the bobbin, yet to be measured.
I also have 1 batt left that I don't think I will spin on it's own. I guess I will hang onto it.
