Molli Sparkles live in Sydney, Australia, and was emotionally affected by the terrorist attacks there. He is doing a quilt block drive to make quilts for the families of the 2 fallen. Here is his post on the matter,
and here is the tutorial for the specific hashtag blocks
he is wanting. If you are stateside and don't want to ship all the way to Australia, Julie from the Intrepid Thread based in CA is willing to ship whatever is sent to her in one big lot to him. Here is her post
on it, and you can find her address on the "Contact us" part of her website. Per Julie: "If they are not here by December 31st I won't be able to ship them so I will give them to a charity committee in one of my guilds." so if you want to make some that would be great, but if they don't get to Julie by the end of the year they will still be put to good use. The photos up top show what I made last night in less than an hour and a half. The tute says to toss the 4th 1 1/2 inch section made, but if you make 3 at a time then you have enough "discarded piece" to make one more. The fourths blocks I made scrappy. I like them!
