She is lovely. Very unique, original. I love the story you gave her. Everything is better with a back story.
2  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Quilt Block Drive for Sydney Heroes on: December 17, 2014 12:51:08 PM

Molli Sparkles live in Sydney, Australia, and was emotionally affected by the terrorist attacks there. He is doing a quilt block drive to make quilts for the families of the 2 fallen. Here is his post on the matter, and here is the tutorial for the specific hashtag blocks he is wanting. If you are stateside and don't want to ship all the way to Australia, Julie from the Intrepid Thread based in CA is willing to ship whatever is sent to her in one big lot to him. Here is her post on it, and you can find her address on the "Contact us" part of her website. Per Julie: "If they are not here by December 31st I won't be able to ship them so I will give them to a charity committee in one of my guilds." so if you want to make some that would be great, but if they don't get to Julie by the end of the year they will still be put to good use.

The photos up top show what I made last night in less than an hour and a half. The tute says to toss the 4th 1 1/2 inch section made, but if you make 3 at a time then you have enough "discarded piece" to make one more. The fourths blocks I made scrappy. I like them!

So... Since all is over and done with, was enough money raised to meet the goal? How long did it go? Did the blankets get made? How many?

I'm working steadily, but not on this swap! HA! I have lots of ideas for Cowtown, which is a lot easier knowing what I do of her from the Pinterest swap, and I even found something perfect for one of her new friends-in-the-making in a bag a friend of mine dumped on me, but alas, the Christmas crafting must me finished first.

Also, you guys are hilarious. Boromir, why does Sean Bean always have to die in movies?

Very nice, Lindy. That just reminded me I need to smile more.

Hi towtown! I hope my cat doesn't get into too much for you, but maybe I can wash it before I sent it? Or at least scrub it down. I had ideas for you already, and now getting your list solidifies some of them. After-Christmas plans are being made!
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: quilt block swap. round three on: December 09, 2014 07:50:01 AM
I think this is my favorite one of all the quilts you've been posting. It looks great!

Smmarrt, you are amazing. I am willing to swap 3 ninnies for 3 ninnies, if anyone wants to make one for each of children. I'm just putting that out there.

I'm sort of envisioning a ninni throw blanket, maybe with each ninni in a pocket on a quilt square...  I need a LOT more ninnis!!!
While reading AIMR's comment about a basket full of them I also had the same vision of a blanket of them, but maybe more appliqued. I made an applique ninni hoop for one round. That was fun. A whole blanket... Ah, man, another thing on my list...
ETA: I was thinking Another thing on my list I will never make but I have been meaning to try machine applique for quilt squares for a while so maybe it will just be Another thing on my list to do next year. Hm... I need to start that list.
