1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Book pillow for reading in comfort! on: February 02, 2011 08:25:51 PM
I made this for my sister for Christmas. She said she wanted european - romantic fabric. So I went with this... and I sewed pearls around the outside. I made a slot for highlighters on one side and post-its on the other. There's adjustable lace straps to hold the book in place and a fabric covered elastic band in the middle to keep the book from shifting.
And best part... My sister loved it  Cheesy

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / ELVIS!! on: February 02, 2011 07:39:05 PM
My dad loooooves Elvis! So for his birthday I made him an Elvis quilt! I think he really liked it but he's one of those that doesn't show a lot of emotion.

The front has pinwheels around it, little pictures of Elvis framed and a blue Hawaii panel I found!

On the back I did a pattern in the center using 3 different fabrics. Here's the close up...

And the whole back!  Complete with Jail house rock!

I had to drape it over the couch to get a full picture. I hope y'all can see it good enough!

C & C welcome!!

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Grandma's 80th Birthday Quilt on: June 12, 2010 03:20:01 PM
I made this for my Grandma for her 80th Birthday last year. It was my first ever quilt and I now know better on how to do it. But I think it turned out ok.
I know if you can tell from the picture but its my grandma and grandpa (he past away last year) and then all their children with their families around them. The pictures, I made into apples hanging from the tree. And in the corner of the quilt, I embroidered "Holmes Family Tree", her name and made by me. Her favorite color is purple! She loves purple everything!
She choked up when she opened it up and that made all the hard work so worth it! I love her *<3 She is the best person I know. I wish I wouldv'e taken I picture of us together!

I shouldv'e ironed it before the pictures were taken! Cheesy
