Cheesy!! Mom-to-be couldn't drink but the rest of us could!! We had rose, mimosas and I made a "panty-dropper" cocktail - 6 beers, a cup of vodka, and a couple containers of frozen raspberry lemonade Smiley.
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / When Pigs Fly Baby Shower on: August 29, 2015 02:07:14 PM
My dear friend is having a baby in October!! As soon as I found out (months ago) I started planning her shower Smiley. She had always said that she NEVER wanted to have kids. We were all surprised to learn she was pregnant so I thought a "when pigs fly" theme would be perfect for the party!!

Here's a crop from the invitation...

I cut out a whole bunch of flying pigs and hung them around the house. I used lanterns and tissue pom poms to look like clouds.

FOOD!!

Instead of playing games, we made crafts for the baby - headbands and baby blocks!

This is where we did presents. More flying pigs and a Mom banner!

I had a couple of gifts wrapped up that were passed around when the mom-to-be was opening her presents. One was passed 3 to the left whenever she opened something pink, the other was passed 2 to the right when she opened something related to bath time. Here's one of them being passed around.

It was a fun afternoon with good friends and happy wishes for the (almost) new Mom!!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Newbie with a question! [how to design logo] on: August 18, 2015 09:55:59 AM
Ohhh yeah! Skeins of yarn can easily turn into a big mess if they aren't wound. If you purchase from a yarn shop, they usually have a yarn swift to wind it into a ball. They can help you get the hang of using it too. It looks like this...

If you don't have access to a swift, try this technique... http://www.instructables.com/id/Hand-Wind-a-Ball-of-Yarn/.

Have you checked out the list of hat and headwear tutorials we have here? You might find something you like there!! Here's the list... http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=412191.0

This is another resource you might want to check out...http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/weight.html. It's an overview of yarn weights - very important to help you figure out gauge and fit!
