1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / knitted teddy bear pile of flesh? on: May 22, 2010 09:09:11 PM
As a change from knitting dishcloths, I have been asked to knit a teddy bear for a waiting room. Apparently the one they had previously was so well loved that it was stolen.
I have seen one or two really nice small ones (6-8 inches or so in size), but I understood they were thinking of a larger one - perhaps about a foot high. To sit in its own rocking chair.

How much time/knitting would that take? (I am quite happy to knit two or three small bears instead of one larger one.)

Does anyone have a pile of flesh for an approximately foot tall bear? One they have already used - so they can provide me with a positive opinion of it?

I am going to contact the people who asked for it - to make sure what they are asking for.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / crochet patterns galore on: September 23, 2006 08:09:14 AM
Hi all;

Came across a list someone had posted on another website a few days ago, and thought I should pass it on to all you "one-stick" people.
See: http://www.myhq. com/public/ c/r/crochetpoet/

It's an astounding list of patterns - and all of the links I tried were good to go.
I figure it should go here as it is likely to become "completed projects" for someone.

Take care,

3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / What's a "cube" of butter (or margarine)? on: March 01, 2006 09:46:00 PM
After getting all excited about a fudge recipe I found online, then I discovered the recipe says "1 cube of margarine or butter".

How much is that?

Thanks in advance.
4  COOKING / Dessert / chocolate cookies made with cocoa, not chocolate chips? on: September 25, 2005 04:32:43 PM
My question is does anyone have a recipe for chocolate cookies - made with cocoa? Not chocolate chips.

My copy has disappeared and I've just found out that my mother doesn't have her recipe any more either. (She was relying on me to have it if she ever needed it again.)
I originally got it from her ... so it probably came out of a "woman's" magazine in the early 70's.

Any help is appreciated.
