1  Dress with Sweaters for 0-3 months in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: October 17, 2014 08:38:15 PM

I had two friends who were having little girls, so I decided to make them cute little outfits.

The dresses were made from the Little Geranium Dress pattern by Made by Rae. I made them with some fabric in my stash that was left over from other projects. I didn't have quite enough of the white and red fabric, so the bodice is lined with solid red.

The sweaters were crocheted using the Lullaby Cardigan pattern on Crochetvolution.

I used the Simple Daisy Crochet Pattern on Daisy Cottage Designs for the headbands.

I really liked out the whole outfits turned out, and the mom's did too.

2  Newsie Outfit for Baby in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: October 17, 2014 08:25:55 PM
One of my friends just had a little boy, and while trying to figure out what to make her I came across an adorable pattern for pants with suspenders that I had to make. Then I decide to just go ahead and make a whole outfit to go with it.

The outfit.

Spruce Suspender Shorts by ZuzzyPatterns on etsy. These were very easy to make. I can't wait till someone else has a baby boy so I can make more.

Newsboy Hat Sewing Pattern by ButterflyTree on etsy.  It's reversible. The one side is quilting cotton, and the other side is a soft wool. It was really easy to make. I might need to make my boys some.

Little Man Shoes by Shwin&Shwin. They are made of quilting cotton and lined with blue felt.

Clip on Bowtie tutorial by Mommy Minutes.  I made one to match the outfit, and a few extra just because. I also did varying sizes for different ages. They were really easy to make and turned out really cute.

I usually don't make clothes for boys, because I have a hard time finding things that I really love. But this outfit was probably one of my favorite things I've ever made.

3  Diaper Cakes for a Triple Baby Shower in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by meleriffic on: October 12, 2014 08:35:05 PM
I threw a baby shower last month for three of my pregnant friends. They all had at least two children already so I made them some diaper cakes.

Two were having girls, and one was having a boy.

4  Tile Coasters in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by meleriffic on: October 12, 2014 08:30:47 PM
I made these tile coasters the other day to give away as a raffle prize at a baby shower.

First I cut a piece of lace to fit the tile. Then I sprayed it with tacky glue. Next I put the lace down and spray painted red. Then I simply removed the lace and moved on to the next tile. finally I mod podged thin cork squares to the bottoms of each tile. It didn't turn out quite as nice as I had hoped, but they still turned out pretty neat.

5  Malma Mirrors and Scrapbook Paper in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by meleriffic on: October 12, 2014 08:25:44 PM
I decorated some Malma mirrors from Ikea the other day.

This was my favorite. It's simply a piece of scrapbook paper mod podged to the frame. I gave it away, but I think I may need to make another one for me.

This one I mod podged scrapbook paper to, but then felt it needed something else. So I made a very skinny frame out of thin card board (that came from inside a fat quarter) and crocheted around it with size 10 crochet thread. Then I mod podged that down. This one is probably going to go in my girls' bedroom.

6  Re: Spinzilla 2014 in Spinning: Discussion and Questions by meleriffic on: October 12, 2014 11:38:01 AM

I finished the previous single and then spun up this single after the kids had gone to bed. It is around 3 oz I think.

So here's what I've gotten done so far.

One finished single:

And a single I'm working on:

They both are the exact same fiber, just prepared in different ways. The first is a little over 2 oz spun from rolags.

The bottom is spun from top blended on a hackle and then dizzed off.

8  Purple, Teal, and Grey Round Baby Blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: October 09, 2014 08:00:52 PM
I made this Flower Ripple Blanket for a friend who is pregnant. You can find the free pattern on Ravelry here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/free-smoothfoxs-flower-round-ripple-12-point

I was trying to use up yarn odds and ends that I happened to have left over from other projects, so I didn't follow the color changes used in the pattern.

9  Bunny Lovey x 3 in Crochet: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: October 09, 2014 07:55:17 PM
Three of my friends who all go to Knit Night at the local yarn shop were all pregnant. So I decided to make them each the same thing, but in different colors. While searching around, I found this cute pattern for a Bunny Lovey at The Stitchin' Mommy.

Here are my versions:

10  Crochet Flower Coasters in Crochet: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: October 09, 2014 07:49:17 PM
I recently went on a kick where I only made things, if I already had the materials on hand. I have quite a bit of cotton yarn, so I met a set of flower coasters. You can find the pattern on One Dog Woof.
