1  Blessing Dress in Knitting: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: September 02, 2015 01:41:33 PM
Earlier this year I found out that my sister-in-law was going to have a little girl. I got super excited because other than me, no one had little girls, only little boys. So I offered to make her blessing dress. The pattern the parents chose was from a little booklet called "Timeless Christening Sets".

Here is the back:

The front:

And a closeup of the bodice:

I'm still fairly new to knitting so this was a great learning experience. It also built my confidence a lot. And despite being bored of the pattern by the time I finished the skirt, I've decided I really love to knit.

2  Luna Lovegood Poppet in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: March 29, 2015 05:28:46 PM
AugustBell was my partner in the Be Awesome Redux swap and wanted something to display. Her favorite fandom is Harry Potter and her avatar is Luna wearing her lion hat, so a Luna poppet is was!

I couldn't find small radishes, but I found some tiny carrot charms and thought they would make the perfect earrings for Luna. To help establish that she is in fact Luna, I made her butter beer cork necklace.  I knit her a sweater to go over her tank top and match her flowered jeans.

Her hair is mohair locks that I needle felted to her head. They are super silky, curly, and oh so soft.

And of course I had to make her lion hat. I just made the head from Larry the Lion a Funky Friends Factory pattern and glued it to a doll witches hat that I found at the craft store.

100 Origami Stars for my son's 100 day project at school. My fingers kind of hurt by the time I was done.

WIP from list

Socks that were knitted flat and then seemed up the side. These are the first socks I've made, and there are a few mistakes, but oh well.

3 Blue Items

My son requested this quilt for his birthday.

He also requested this pillow.

And his birthday cake to match his quilt.

Not my best work, but I ran out of frosting and food coloring, so the crumbly frosting had to show. (It didn't help that my two and a half year old and helped her self to little bits of cake all over the cake top while I wasn't looking.)

Love the fun hoops. Your unique touches make them great!

Yesterday morning I quickly fixed my sons pants. Somehow he always manages to destroy the knees. So it's a simple patch, but hopefully they will be a lot warmer. (I just sewed in some fleece scraps I had.)

And a WIP from my list
I was going through and reorganizing my craft room and pulled out this scarf that I started for my husband the end of 2013. I already had it on my list, so instead of putting it back away, I decided to just go ahead and finish it.

(The sad thing is all it needed was to have the ends woven in and then to block it. But I'm still counting it this year, because I didn't count it in 2013.)

I finished making this dress for my little girl this morning.  It is the Blue Ribbon Dress by Little Lizard King. I used a shirt that I purchased for the bodice.

9  Pearl Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by meleriffic on: November 18, 2014 12:24:18 PM

I made this pearl necklace a while ago, just for fun. You can't really tell from the pictures, but a few of the pearls are slightly pink in hue.

I followed this tutorial: http://melancholysmile.blogspot.com/2012/06/diy-j-crew-necklace.html
