Ffrogg that is a lovely looking scarf - is it as complicated to knit as it looks? (Even after many years I am still just at the 'beginner knitter' stage).

Honestly - not NEARLY as complicated as it looks (or as I thought!)!  If you can knit, purl and ssk, you can do this!  There are tutorials on YouTube.  But I bought Entrelac: Essential Guide to Interlace Knitting ages ago!  And finally decided to dive in on Jan. 1

And here's project #1 FINISHED!  I started it a long time ago, was putting other yarn away, and found it.  Its been sadly ignored for a long time and today was the day!  Its done!  woot!

2  First sweater! And its black! ACK! in Knitting: Completed Projects by Ffrogg526 on: January 02, 2014 06:12:11 AM
So, about 3, maybe 4 years ago, I saw this book and it had a sweater pattern in it that Z liked.

So - being the good fianc I said "I can make that!"  So he picked out yarn and buttons and I set to work.  I picked it up, put it down, got angry, ripped it out, ignored it some more, went to one of my LYSs for help, worked some more, went to another LYS.  Finally got someone to show me how to seam it together and....  TA DA!

There are still some issues with it (in my opinion).  I don't like the button plaquets because they flop.  They're not sturdy enough to hold up unless they're buttoned.  Z says its perfect.  Cheesy

Laying flat.

Up close and personal with the collar.

The really wonderful woman who helped me seam it together told me that he better love me for making him a black sweater because its soooo stinking hard to see.  I really didn't have a problem with it.  Overall, I'm happy with how this turned out.  And even though Z is already bugging me about making him another sweater (the joke is that it'll take a good 10 years), I think the next sweater will be for me!  Cheesy

Thanks for looking!

I posted sometime yesterday about working on some entrelac for the first time.  Way to start the new year!  Here's a photo of yesterday's progress!  Cheesy

Knitters - is it just me or does entrelac take up more yarn than regular knitting?

This is the ornament that I finished today.  Wanted to see how long it took me start to finish (the answer was 3.5 hours).

HERE is the link to 9 more hoops I've made and given away to friends and family for Christmas this year.  Cheesy

Merry Christmas everyone!

5  Doodle Stitched Christmas Ornaments in Needlework: Completed Projects by Ffrogg526 on: December 25, 2013 06:14:54 AM
I had a brainstorm over Thanksgiving and found myself on the hunt for 3" hoops!  Cheesy  I already had the off white sparkly fabric from another project so I started out using that.  I found  THIS on Pinterest and took my inspiration from it.  I really hope she doesn't mind.   Roll Eyes

Everyone I've given them to absolutely loves their ornament!  Here's hoping that my future in-laws feel the same.  I had Christmas with Z yesterday so I don't get to see the future in-laws reaction.

Here are 9 of the hoops I made.

Questions and comments are welcome!  Thanks for taking a look!

Most recent finished project!  Its for Z for Christmas!

One of our neighbors has a light up flying pig on their front porch.  Z loves it!  Doesn't want one that lights up but he loves it.  So I decided to make one for him for Christmas!  Cheesy

I couldn't wait any longer!  My crafter was the amazing happylittleclam!  She had a hard time crafting for me because I didn't list anything that was her specialty!  But she did an amazing job!  I love my goodies!

This is inspired by my Pinterest board "Etsy Wants".  Its a tree of life earring holder.  And let's be honest, its so pretty it may never hold earrings!  It may just look pretty on my wall!  Cheesy

I love earrings. It might even be said I have an obsession!  She made me more holiday earrings!  The dark triangles are Christmas trees.  I couldn't get a good picture of them.  I think the stockings are my favorite.  Smiley

Thank you so much!  I love my goodies!  Merry Christmas everyone!

PROJECT DUMP!  I haven't posted in quite a while so here are several projects that have been done recently!

This is the first Summer Love Wrap that I made for a friend who was in need of some comfort.

This is the embroidered Hamsa hand that I did for Z's birthday!  (in July...  no - not late at all!)

Z's old man sweater!  This sweater has been in the works for 2.5 years!  Its the first sweater I've ever made that fit!  And he loves it!  The very nice lady at my LYS helping me with the construction said I was a saint for making it in black.  lol  It didn't bother me to work with black.  The only thing that bothers me a bit is the pulling around the buttons.  It shouldn't gap like that.  But Z keeps telling me that its perfect and I should shut up and stop obsessing.  lol  Cheesy   Roll Eyes

Up close shot of the second Summer Love Wrap I made for myself.  This one will work quite well with my Renaissance Festival costume.

I have one more project to post a picture of but I don't think my partner has opened her Secret Santa package yet.  Cheesy  I'll post it as soon as she opens her package!

She said the bag is handmade too but not by her.  Still cute!

She found her way into the garden somehow...  hmmmm.  Cheesy

Thank you again cadet!  Love it!
