1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I need help!! on: February 24, 2005 05:12:14 PM
Ok so. My boyfriend likes to wear the pants that can fit midgets in the legs (hehe). His favorite pair of jeans are getting small in the waist. But he says that he loves the way the legs fit him. Is there any way to make the waist bigger?
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / I want to make a bulletin board with this, will it work? on: February 09, 2005 10:35:10 AM
Over the weekend I bought a cheap walmart desk that had to be put together. well it came with squares (rectangles, rather) of styrofoam. I have nowhere to hang anything in my room, and would like to use these (there's two) as bulletin boards. I thought of maybe covering them with a cute fabric. The problem is that they're really flimsy. Is there any way to make them sturdier?  Huh

4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Crush bottle caps on: January 25, 2005 11:44:41 AM
as a HUGE fan of bon jovi (and everything related  Tongue) I have begun collecting Crush soda bottle caps. I've searched the site for ideas, and i've come across a lot. However I don't want to ruin them (i.e. smashing them, putting nails through them, etc) and am having a hard time coming up with ideas. I thought about hot glue, but I heard that doesn't work so well. any help would be appreciated!

I don't know about you, but i have trouble finding good stencils. I think it would be cool to have a board where we can share our stencil patterns.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / skirt out of neckties on: December 14, 2004 05:32:21 PM
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/btyqnfrmmars/jenskirt.jpg

I made it for my sister. it's a little big in the waist because her hips are wide. but she wears a belt with it, and we added belt loops out of the skinny end of the ties. I got this idea off of crafster. I wish I was creative enough to come up with it, but I cannot lie. It's not fair to the Craftster who came up with it.

I am in love with the strapless shirt. I can't wait to do this again with more mens dress shirts.  Grin

EDIT: The pink half of the strapless top was made from the bottom part of the shirt that I cut off
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / need a simple hat pattern for circs on: December 05, 2004 06:45:07 PM
I'm looking for a simple hat pattern that I can knit using a circular needle. I have all kinds of yarn and I'm making a trip to michigan (egads it'll be cold). I'd really like a cute hat to match my cute pink scarf.  Smiley
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I love goodwill! 8 dollars for all of this on: December 04, 2004 08:11:19 PM
Oh man. I went to goodwill today (looking for clothes for reconstruction). Well I decided that I would go to the linen section to see if they had any patterns. Lo and behold they had a HUGE bag of knitting stuff!!! I got the whole thing for 8 bucks. I tried to take a picture but I can't upload it.  Embarrassed So instead I made a list of everything I got. I still can't believe it.
Knitting:
6 stitch holders
a size 10 circular needle
3 cable needles
1 set of sock pins (not sure what to do with them)
2 sets size 1
3 sets of size 2 needles (1 new still in package)
5 sets of size 3 (1 new)
3 sets size 4
2 sets size 5 and one single
2 sets size 6 (1 new)
1 single size 7
8 sets size 8 (1 single)
3 sets size 9 (1 single)
3 sets size 10
1 set size 10 and half
3 sets size 11
1 set size 13
1 set size 15
crochet:
1 long J hook
1 long F hook
1 H hook
1 I hook
DPNS:
2 pairs (one set?) size 6
3 size 2
2 size 3
2 size 7
4 size 1

It also came with a needle/stitch gauge. I was like oh my god! I couldn't believe it. hahaha  Grin

Edited to add: I forgot to mention that most of these needles are aluminum. A few pairs are plastic and the size 15s are wood.
