1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Plum crystal necklace on: September 02, 2013 09:01:30 AM
I made this plum and clear crystal necklace this week, with simple matching earrings.  Hope people like them.

The colour shows up better in this photo:

And the earrings.

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Two bracelets on: September 02, 2013 08:57:25 AM
I made two braclets this week, one from crystals and one from "pearls" and blue beads.  Both are made with right angle weave beading.

Blue ( almost metalic) and clear crystals, this shows the pattern best.  Ignore the wrist model, lol.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / jennieingram inspired me! on: September 02, 2013 08:48:11 AM
I've been admiring Jennie's wonderful bracelets for some time.  She inspired me to make a charm bracelet, nothing like hers I'm afraid, but I'm happy with it anyway.

I used a made chain bracelet, and all the gold charms I could find in my stash to make this.  The stacked pearls and gold beads were "stolen" from Jennie's style completely, I even looked at her photos to see how she did them. ( Sorry for stealing Jennie!!)

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures, I don't own a camera.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / needle books x 2 on: December 10, 2012 12:07:04 PM
After seeing some wonderful needle books on Crafters I had to make me one, so I did. I used a wool blanket I had fleeced for the outside, and had a friend draw me a simple set of flowers.  I outlined the flowers in seed beads, my first attempt at using seed beads on cloth. I used regular felt for the inside pages, and finished the outline in blanket stich, which I had to look up since I hadn't done it in years.  So here's mine:

When my DD saw it, she wanted one, so I made her one for Xmas.  I found a lovely satiny dress in our local Sally Ann, and cut it up to use for the needle book, and some other projects to come.  Hers is smaller since she doesn't sew much.  Hers has a green felt on the inside ( forgot to take a picture) made from a green wool blanket.  I lined the outside with clear gold seed beads, to match the smaller gold flower which you can just see in very bottom right hand corner.

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Kitchen shelves on: November 17, 2012 12:28:58 PM
Hubby just finished these new shelves for a hallway between our kitchen and side entry to our century home.  The wall is one side of a new room, that is part of my new walk in closet.  He made the wall brackets, out of scrap pine he has left from making trim for the house.  The shelves are six inch pine.  The ends are rounded, since someone I won't mention (ME) has a tendency to run into shelves otherwise.  I'm really pleased how nicely they turned out, and how useful they are.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Xmas presents for my daughter on: November 03, 2012 03:38:59 PM
Been doing some crafting to get ready for Christmas, and made this bracelet and earrings for my daughter.  I'm not the best at taking photos,  so hubby did them for me,  I hope you can make them out.  C&C appreciated.

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / sewer pipe bookcover on: November 03, 2012 03:34:27 PM
DH is renovating our century home.  He is currently making us a master bedroom.  He needed to cover the old cast iron sewer pipe in the room, and didn't want to just have a jut out.  Instead he made a built in bookcase to cover it.  Next to it, is a new walk in closet that he made for us, by cutting into the next room, which wasn't being used effectively.  All the molding you see in the room he made himself.  I'm sure he would appreciate any comments people might have.

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Jewlery holder on: August 25, 2012 10:06:08 AM
I made two holders to display/hang up my late MIL's antique jewelry and one for my own favourites.  They are made with styrofoam that I covered with cloth, then some used lace.  They are hung on either side of my medicine cabinet.  I took pictures of the one with the antique jewelery.  Aren't some of her old pieces lovely.

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Jewled curtain tie backs on: August 25, 2012 09:57:04 AM
I wanted to make tie backs for my tv room, and since I'm a beader I thought I would try it with beads.  My first attempt was with a single strand of beads, done in crystals and seed beads.  I didn't think it had enough "punch".  Here's the final product:

And here is my first attempt:
