2  Re: NeedleBook Rd2 unicorn zombie apocalypse - chainswarm - SO 06/24 in The Swap Gallery by seneris on: June 28, 2013 08:49:22 AM
I got my needlebook today! Wulf made a beautiful needlebook with lots of texture and ghoulish fabrics: just what I wanted. And he included ghoulish extra's as well Smiley
Here's an overview of what he sent me:

Here are some pictures of the needlebook.
Front:

I am so happy that my needlebook is made with the crazy quilting technique Smiley So many different embroidery stitches and fabrics, really inspiring.

Back:

I really eat the colour scheme! The colours are much warmer in real life BTW, it's an overcast day here Sad

Inside:

Unfortunately the fabric of the inside doesn't show that great in this picture. He even included a seam ripper and some needles, how kind of you Wulf Smiley Wulf also wanted to include some scissors but then the postage would be too expensive, I completely understand.

Here are some pictures of the paper extra's:

There are some really old and ghoulish things in there!

Thank you so much for the needlebook and the extra's Wulf, hope you like what I sent you!

I received my final two sets, from Kartiana and deadsweaters.

Here are the cards from Kartiana:
Fronts

Backs

'Play with your scraps' and 'Use something from your stash that you never thought you would use'. So what did you use, Kartiana? Parts from a computer or something? Looks interesting Smiley The paper in the back looks like it's some kind of drawing of a circuit.

And here are the cards from deadsweaters:
Fronts

Backs

'Make an abstract' and 'Lyrics'. Deadsweaters used the lyrics for 'Sail to the Moon (Brush the Cobwebs Out of the Sky)' from Radiohead Cheesy One of my favourite bands, thank you!!!!

Thanky you both so much for your cards. I eat them, and I got an ghoulish collection Smiley

In the spirit of this upcoming unicorn zombie apocalypse I wanted to share with you all a needlebook that I made last weekend. Most needlebooks I see are made of felt, but you can make one out of paper Smiley

These are fun and easy to make Smiley

I received my set from pollyprissypants Smiley

She accompanied the cards with a yellow and black speckled background:

The prompts:

#1 : What do you want to remember today?
#2: Write about a smell that takes you back to childhood...

The backs:

I like your writing style, pollyprissypants Smiley

I eat the raised writing, and the background on the first card! Thank you so much for swapping with me Smiley

I have received my first set of cards! Smmarrt was so kind to send me an extra. I was really surprised to receive them so early, I figured it would take more time. She was so kind to send me an extra card, you shouldn't have done that, you're too kind Smiley
She sent everything in a beautiful card:

In the card she wrote a little explanation about one of the cards: the 'put a bird on it', it's from a comedy show skit. I never heard the phrase before, so thanks for clarifying Tongue I will try to see if I can find the skit on youtube.

Here are the fronts of the cards:

As you can see the first and second card are quite similar to flip-floPs second and third card. I was thrilled to see Dutch words on the second card, that was a lovely touch Smmarrt Smiley

Here are the backs of the cards:

The back of the third card says: 'Place plastic wrap or bubble wrap on wet paint. Let dry with plastic wrap on top.' I eat the effect this gives, as you can also see on the front of this card.

Thank you so much for your cards Smmarrt, I eat them Smiley They are very inspiring.

Now I'm off to work on the cards I need to send out Wink

Unfortunately jmiller614's first card never arrived, so she had to resend. And she sent me not one, but two cards for my 'Medieval architecture' theme. I eat them Smiley Here they are:

The one on the left is made with pencil. the one on the right with ink. She also sent me a little note. Thank you jmiller614!

9  Halloween cabinet cards in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by seneris on: October 22, 2012 10:10:07 AM
So last week I became the proud owner of a Big Shot diecutting machine (I am hooked Smiley). Yesterday I decided to make a few Halloween-themed cabinet cards. I used the Tim Holtz alterations cabinet card-die for the cards background (my favourite die so far!), and several Tim Holtz Halloween-themed dies plus a sizzlit swirl-die that came with my machine. Instead of gluing the die cuts on the cards I decided to paint around them with silver acrylic paint and then removing them, for a silhouette-effect. I then inked the edges of the cards. I will send a few of these out to friends, the rest I will display in my house.
What do you think?

I also have a card from Mountains and Clouds to share! I am really shocked, never knew that mail form Honolulu would reach The Netherlands that quick! She sent me one for my classical music theme. Here's the whole package:

Look at that cute extra she sent me Smiley
A better picture of the card:

The title is: 'It lives!' It sure does, thank you so much!
Here's the back:

Thank you, I like the card very much Cheesy
