jenleahlynn and rubylynns, how mean to make Doctor Who fabric posts! Grin
The weather is really annoying here but it makes for more crafting times. Swap project is growing along nicely.
I didn't watch Doctor Who as a kid either (I didn't even know it existed back then), and yes, I would have been terrified too Wink My kids watch it with me, and they have favourite episodes (The Lodger, Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, Fires of Pompeii), and both wanted Sonic Screwdrivers for their birthdays, but there is a whole number of episodes they don't want to watch again because they're too creepy. They love the mummy joke, but not the mummy episodes Wink They love catchphrases a lot because the rest of the speeech is often too fast paced for them (not native speakers of English that we are, I have a similar problem).
Apart from the blood freezing scary stuff, I think Doctor Who has great messages for kids about being curious, creative, not judgemental, and happily nerdy Wink Also, spaceships!

It's in the middle of Sunday here, are you lazy guys on the other side of the planet still in bed or what? Where is my partner? *pout*

Oh yes, very lazy......I'm going to post partners but I won't get the ?'s sent out in a few hours, this way you can start talking to you partner!

Sorry I called you lazy Wink I'm always complaining about the different time zones a bit, but yeah, I can't really change anything about that I guess Wink also I realized I'm not the only swapper in here who lives in the future so I feel a bit better now Wink

Aaaand it starts! Partners! Yay!

Actually about the making sense problem, I have that in the other direction. If you start with the Moffat episodes like I did, and then move onto the RTD ones, you see all the things in which THEY don't make sense. Stolen Earth. Every season finale. The Doctor's Daughter... I could go on and on... I still love them, but yes, I do see it when they're consisting of logic holes bigger than our solar system.
It's okay though. I was expecting it (I have been warned, hehe Wink). And I am just so grateful for seeing SF with well-written characters that is fearlessly running with its ideas. I think I haven't had that since DS9, and that's been a looong time, I can tell you.

I have a question: As the makers of DW always insist that it is a show for children, how many of you have seen it as a child?

While yes, the unrequited love thing wasn't a great joy to watch, I found it more believable and relatable than the Rose and Doctor love arc. Because of course some companions would fall in love with the Doctor, and in most cases that wouldn't work out well. I like how they resolved it. Martha's got the most dignified exit of all companions.

I'm undecided about Clara. I wasn't liking Oswin because she was looking too much like Amy. I'm bad at processing faces and the whole episode confused the heck out of me for being so bad at telling which one was which.
The first Clara episodes weren't helping. I think we didn't get a good idea who she was, as a person, where she stands and where she can go with the Doctor. Her arc was too much relying on the mystery thing and too little on character.
They did a lot better with that in the 8th season. She's a coherent, well-defined character now, and I like that. She's not my favourite, but she's doing well. I think with Twelve having sharper edges, and her being the one who keeps him from cutting others with them, it's a good combination. "She cares so I don't have to." Works for me, but yeah, not my favourite.

I'm wondering how far they'll take it with her. She's more on eye-level with the Doctor, even being a bit of a mother or nanny with him if necessary. And in the past, they've done terrible things to companions who tried to be as good or powerful as the doctor. Bad Wulf and DoctorDonna were awful (but they had no problem with a male human timelord in the same episode argh), and River wasn't allowed to keep her timelord powers either. So now that Clara has become as time-lordy as a human probably can, where will they be taking it?

Aw, that's great! Also, your first post, welcome, and thanks!

I know, I didn't give the exact spot of where the increases are supposed to happen, but I thought it's pretty obvious (they're evenly distributed), and that the pattern didn't need to be cluttered with it. Glad it works for you!

Hm, if there is a demand for getting a version that gives the exact increases, I could write that up!
