1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Granny Square shirt on: July 22, 2014 07:53:48 AM
This looks great! Seen big granny dresses before, but the shirt looks better! I think I want one! Great job and thanks for the inspiration.
Hehe, if you want cold and wet weather in Germany, just wait a few months, and you won't be disappointed Wink

How cuuute!
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Finish My UFO Discussion and Swap Gallery on: May 16, 2014 06:08:41 AM
The chain style sounds good. I'm sad to see people not queuing up for the swap, because I think it's an awesome idea! I'm not entirely confident I could finish somone else's UFO in time as I'm super slow crafting these days, but hm, seeing what others have that needs something done might help with getting an idea of what is required in the first place.
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Sailor Moon Craftalong 2014 on: April 08, 2014 07:27:01 AM
Yay, the first challenge is on!
Seems like I'll have to take on some of my UFOs Wink or adding some new ones to the pile? Hm, maybe I should start with something small...
Definitely going to work on this challenge for more than a month because it has so many of my favourite characters in it!

Erin, great job on the hair and on the dynamic stance, and the use of Venus' sword for the sword of Justitia blew my mind!

Welcome Audania! Sailor Moon definitely made me do a lot of senshi sketches too Wink and look who's still doing Sailor Moon crafts now  Grin

5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Sailor Moon Craftalong 2014 on: March 29, 2014 02:47:47 PM
Thanks!
Hm, suggestion for the  baddies: proceed along the story, that is, start with the Dark Kingdom, and then do the Doom Tree etc?
And for the goodies, you could pick them in the order they appear too. Or in the groups they appear. Inners, Outers, Asteroids, Starlights.
Or maybe tie it to the seasons? Have a goodie and baddie craft for every season?
I also liked the full moon/new moon suggestion from Erin. I can see myself "And this is the full moon craft from three moons ago, finally finished." Wink but it's a good use of the White Moon vs Black Moon theme.
6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Azuma Wataru from Tumbling/Nephrite from PGSM and a tiny Sailor Pluto on: March 29, 2014 12:16:39 PM
A while ago, I discovered the J-drama "Tumbling" and its amazing cast, and fell in love with it.
It took me about a year to complete this Wataru amigurumi (craft blocks suck).
I recently gave him to a friend who loves him too and added the little Pluto for him to cuddle.

Reference pics

(Yamamoto Yusuke is an amazing actor. His proportions are difficult to catch in an amigurumi though and I need to do a better job on them next time.)

Amigurumi Wataru for me also represents a high school age PGSM Nephrite (long story)

Progress pics

I'm so proud of the jacket. Worked to look like it was made in rounds (by doing the backrows in backward sc), and the sleeves were done with a bigger hook so they would be flexible enough to slip through.

And a last one!

I'm currently working on the next one and this time, I'm taking notes for a pattern!
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Mini Dalek on: March 29, 2014 11:47:55 AM
Love your cute caffeinator, and love the pattern! I made a bunch of these in all colors, but I still have to give them all the fiddly antennae Wink Maybe I should try setting them next to a cup of coffee too Wink
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Sailor Moon Craftalong 2014 on: March 29, 2014 08:33:42 AM
Here's my Sailor Moon themed WIPs:

Older ones, which are some on-and-off aimless partsmaking mostly: Chibi senshi and chibi Shitennou

Only needing some assembly, accessorizing and faces: Chunky Mars and chibi Mars

And this chibi Beryl is going to be one of the coolest things I've ever made as soon as I've fixed the mistake that's currently covered by my thumb Wink

A very slow moving project: senshi colored hexagons for a blanket

another senshi hexagon WIP (still a bit wonky because prototype)

Hope that this craftalong will help me finish some of these!
I also have recently finished a project for a friend that I want to duplicate for myself: Nephrite and Pluto.

There's just so many Sailor Moon things I want to make, but I'm still in a craft block and suuuuuper slow.

This craftalong sounds great!
I know I'll definitely make some Sailor Moon themed things this year! Hehe, as every year! I'm slow, with several sailor senshi amigurumi in different states of making. Finished one Sailor Moon project only recently. Will post pics soon!
I like the ideas of goodie vs baddie themes!

Hi, I'm Ruby Copperhead from Germany, single mom of two boys age 10 and 13. We love swaps!

Allergies relevant to crafts are scent, cats (but only if they sleep in your stash), and pollen if it's a very early spring where you live. Our household is mostly allergen-free.

I've tried to list mainly things that don't have a lot of weight or bulk for better shipping. I can add the stuffing to anything you send so you can send it flat.
Generally, even if it's not on your list, I'll always love to receive an item that represents your favourite technique or that you were very happy making.

Our favourite themes:
Sailor Moon, Kamen Rider (Kabuto, Blade, OOO or Den-O), Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Discworld, DS9, Star Wars,  Pokemon, Lazy Town, Wreck-it Ralph, Skulduggery Pleasant and Animals Crossing.
I also like Japan, Scandinavia and the UK as general themes. The kids asked me to emphasize on the Pokmon theme again Wink

Favourite colors:
clear, bright colors, like rainbow colors, the colors of Lego blocks, or jewel tones. I really like green. If you make something for our kitchen, it has a magical forest theme and the colors are green, brown, blue and orange. If you're making something wearable for us, please ask for measurements or sizes.

Dislikes:
Pink, pastel, polka dots, fabrics that are very "busy", frills. Artificially scented anything (see allergies).
