1  Dancing 9-patchs in Quilting: Completed Projects by Taramor on: February 11, 2015 07:51:22 AM
A destashing project I worked on for most of 2014. I used Bonnie Hunters tutorial for 'dancing 9-patch', and really liked the design.
It is warm and lovely here in the wintertime.

And the backside:

2  Quilt for Jessica in Quilting: Completed Projects by Taramor on: February 11, 2015 07:42:23 AM
Here is a quilt, which turned out rather different than planned. It is for a dear friend of mine, and I have worked on it for over a year. Mostly because I had to redo most of it several times  Embarrassed. At last I hope she will like the result.
At first I wanted to make 'A trip around the world' quilt, but it was impossible for me to match all those corners, so I decided to make a simpler design by separating the blocks with solid triangles.
Jessica likes red and purple, but I found it needed some contrast to set it of. So I decided on triangles in blue/teal as well as pink. I played around with it a bit, and decided at last to have the blue in the middle and the pink around the edge.
The quilt was meant as a destashing project, but I had to bye the blue/teal fabric.

I would like to join again.

Not much of a list - but some WIP's

1. hexagon blanket, started in '13
2. quilt with leaves
3. quilt: "bricks and stepping stones"
4. house shoes

Funny socks with many colours

Have materials, just need to do the work:
- black leggings
- PJ pants
- T-shirt for DH
- Duvet and pillow covers for Tara

I don't think I will write my plans here - they just makes me feel guilty, if I don't make them. So only works I have started on, or finished.

1. PJ's

2. Doll quilt

How to use some of all that pretty paper, the gifts was wrapped in:

It is my father modelling, he turned 90 this spring.

And here an angel:

She is made out of an old, damaged book of hymns.

6  Re: 50 Projects 2014--Let's continue the craftiness! in Craftalongs by Taramor on: December 28, 2014 08:30:00 AM
What wonderfull stuff! I love the hobbit-door, I would love to make one some day. The T-shirts are great - and I'm so sorry, I don't mention every great post. Like everyone else, I will hurry to post my projects, before the year is gone. I have been photo-dumping the de-stash thread, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=430469.830, so here I will just show to pair of socks I have made. There was 3, but my daughter is wearing one of them  Cheesy.

- Oh - and I see I forgot a project-bag for a friend of mine. It is made from stash, using a vintage embroidery and some fabric. Sorry, the picture is a bit blurry.

7  Re: 2014 DeStash-Along in Craftalongs by Taramor on: December 28, 2014 08:16:12 AM
I have been very slack in posting my works this year. But the name is 2014 DeStash-Along, so I better get going before the year is over.
I have made 6 small doll-quilts:
and .
I also made ornaments with flags. They are very fun to make - you can use nearly everthing, it is as scrappy as you want it to.

I made two potholders for my sister:

I am also very proud to have finished two quilts - but I better wait to tomorrow to show them, the light is not good now.

Sorry for the photo-dump!

My nieces, my daughter and my sister came to help destash, and we all made bags. We did a good job, if I may say so myself  Wink

A very down-to-earth project. But it certainly is reusing. . You can't see the patch, when the pants are in use.

And another pair, - no holes, but the fabric was getting thin. So I put a patch of iron-on on the inside, and 'quilted' it to the fabric on the pants.
