2  Hobbit door, Octopus and birdhouse pendants in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Riechan on: August 14, 2014 07:25:31 AM
Leaving behind my flower designs I wanted to try and use polymer clay for some other things
I really wanted to try and make a hobbit door (love the design of it!) so I just went for it Cheesy
The outcome made me really proud ^^; Nicest thing I have ever made I think Cheesy

Since the blue I wanted to use for a sky background for flowers was to dark, I turned it into underwaterthemed pendant
I had to redo the legs of the octopus because I forgot the suckers...

The third one was a birdhouse

And a picture for scale:

Thanks for watching! Comments and critiques are always appreciated!

4  Re: Ongoing ATC swap - August 2013 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Riechan on: September 07, 2013 07:37:24 AM
I also received my cards! For a week and a half I wasn't home so here are my pictures finally!

From kosmicgirl:
Theme: Victorian fashion - anime: fruits basket
Plus we did a private swap of our favourite anime.

I love them very much! The stones on the victorian girl came off but some glue will take care of that!

From desired constellation:
I asked for atc's with a special medium and desired constellation used that beautifully! I received a fabric! atc card with my HP theme!
It's so awesome!

Thankyou both so much!

6  Handmade flower rings vs plastic flower rings ~ pricing question in Get Product and Website Opinions by Riechan on: August 21, 2012 01:57:59 AM
I make jewellery out of fimo. I love roses to therefore rose inspired jewelry.
Here are some examples of the rings I make.

The first and second one are priced 12 (14.8$) and the third one 8 (9.9$)
Now, I see a lot of shops popping up who sell plastic rose rings, of which some who charge as much as me for 1 rose ring. And I know they only cost 50ct for that rose and a ring.
(I recognize those flowers because I'm also in the decoden sector and got freebies from a company)

My pricing on these rings depends on the amount of flowers and leafs and the rest of the materials.
(I give myself 8/hour, about 10$, than I calculate how long it took per flower and the assembling and than add profit)
Do you think I'm underselling? Or pricing too much??

Thanks in advance!

7  Re: Wee House Craftalong-Ongoing 2011-2012 in Craftalongs by Riechan on: January 09, 2012 06:25:05 AM
Since i couldn't find a kit in the stores and I have quite the left over card board from maquette making I'm making the house using the template katara found.
Here are the pieces that are painted. I haven't done anything to the roofs yet because I don't know what I want to do with them...

I'm going for a gothic mansion where an elegant lady lives who likes painting, reading, piano playing and witch craft Cheesy For the colour combination I've chosen black-silver-red Smiley So if anyone has any suggestions for the roof, let me know Wink

I finished my skirts!
This one is an bustled back under skirt, made by quite a heavy fabric

And the right one on here is my first pleated music note skirt Smiley The red skirt is also made by me but somewhere last year Smiley

Yay! Onto the next piece so I have some room in my closet to fill up with new fabric C:

9  Red Rose Lolita skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Riechan on: June 17, 2011 01:11:05 AM
A while back I took the plunge and made myself a lolita skirt. I made on before but made a mistake so it turned out a bit less poofy than I would have liked.
I worked a whole weekend on this one.
The fabric is cotton and there's about 3 m of it in there. The pattern is a basic rectangle, gathered at the top.
Everything is sewn by machine but I did all the gathering, ruffling and hemming by hand...
and offcourse after that I discovered a hemming foot in my mothers sewing case. Roll Eyes
This was my first time inserting a invisible zipper and it turned out not that difficult as I expected, so I'm happy about that ^^.
It's a bit big but I can solve that with waistties, although when I went back to buy some more fabric, somebody had bought the whole roll T_T

close-up of the fabric and the ruffles

I'd love to know what you think of my first try at a lolita skirt ^^
