1  Re: Summer Nerd Games 2015 Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by DearBluebird on: Today at 12:26:04 PM
I received from Ludi a few days ago. Apologies I am just now loading pics (the past few days have been TERRIBLE with an a/c and heat pump installation that went awfully.)

I want to thank Ludi. This is one of the best things I have ever received from a Craftster swap, and that's saying something because I have received wonderful stuff.  It is the Audrey 2 from one of my favorite movies, Little Shop of Horrors.

It is beautifully made. I LOVE it.

2  Re: Monthly Dotee Swap - JUNE OCEAN GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by DearBluebird on: July 13, 2015 12:04:11 PM
I received my dote from Wile E Songdog today. It was definitely worth the wait (which was my pleasure by the way - not  a problem at all).  It's really quite beautiful and I feel like mine really didn't get up to snuff when I opened this package today. Here is the dote:

The colors are so vibrant. It is kinda funny that we both send each other batik sea horse dotees!!!

Thank you so much, Wile E. It's absolutely beautiful.

Here is the dote I made for Wile E Songdog. She received earlier this week but I know she had been under the weather so I thought maybe I should post pics. If you have a better pic, please feel free to share it. This is a terrible pic but it's been raining for what feels like months here and I can never get good lighting. There are small gold glass beads running along the seam closure. I have been saving this batik fabric for almost eleven years and I think it was a great choice for this little seahorse.

I am first to go!!  Cheesy

I received from Audania1 today. First I'd like to say thanks to Audrey for such a beautiful and thoughtful item. I just love it! One of the villains listed on my q. was Ursula. What she didn't know was the song "Poor Unfortunate Souls" is one of my all-time favorite Disney songs. So she created a needle book with those two in mind. I hate to call it a needle book though because it is SO big and roomy I could put more than just needles. My small sewing scissors and embroidery floss can also fit in the roomy pockets. This book measures around 6x6 I think. It's huge. Check it out!!
Here is the cover:

Here is a closeup: "I've mended all my ways" is embroidered. I love how she used these buttons as Ursula's suction cups.  Wink

Every page was sewn with beautiful stitching details....

Thanks again. I love it and will be using it for a VERY long time to come.

Project Name: Small Envelopes

Brief Description: I found a few envelope patterns on pinterest and decided to make some in a size that would be great for ATCs. I go to my local Goodwill once a week and look for books in bad shape (pages missing, binding problems, etc.) and recycle the pages in crafts. I found a super cute children's story and used its pages to create these envelopes. I think these measure 3.5x4.5 if I remember correctly.

Project Name: Mason Jar Gift Tags
Project Link:
Brief Description: I bought a new crafters workshop stencil and some new stamps at my local hobby store when they were half off. I made these coordinating small and large paper gift tags. I stamped ink over the stencil first. I stamped the mason jars, etc., onto white cardstock (some were watercolored) and cut them out and pasted onto the tags. I also used black ink along the edges of the tags and some different washi tapes for an interesting contrast.

8  Video Game Wall Art - several pics in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by DearBluebird on: June 09, 2015 09:40:41 AM
I have been saving some old issues of Game Informer Magazine and decided they would be perfect to make some wall art for my boys bedroom. I used a scrapbooking 1 inch circle cutting tool and cut out a lot of circles. I had two canvases, one I painted black and the other white and neon yellow. I then glued 19 rows of 9 circles on each canvas and added some design with cheap craft paint and a dylusions stencil. I think they turned out pretty cool - my kids loved them. Also, it was great to recycle the magazines. Thanks for looking!

Brief Description: My boys have a subscription to the gamestop magazine "Game Informer". We have saved all the old issues and I decided to use them to make my boys some art for their bedroom. I had two white canvases and here is what I did.....
I painted one canvas black and the other I painted splotches of neon yellow paint. I used a 1 inch circle tool and cut out a LOT of images from our magazines. I used modpodge for paper and glued the circles down in 9 rows of 19. I then used a dylusions stencil and added some design to the canvases. TaDa! Smiley

10  Re: Monthly Theme Dotees - MAY MUSIC GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by DearBluebird on: June 03, 2015 12:36:20 PM

In my q. I told my partner, Smmarrt, that I loved 80s music especially Joan Jett and Adam Ant (along with some other references). Today I received my swap package. I was thrilled when I opened it to find Adam Ant. This dotee is so wonderful. It instantly made me smile and I have been humming "Goodie Two Shoes" ever since. It's just so wonderfully 80's. Here is a pic of my new dotee along with a pic of Adam Ant for reference. Thank you, Susan.
