That is so great!
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Beat the Heat with Popiscles! on: July 03, 2015 10:29:24 AM
It is unseasonably hot in the Pacific Northwest right now and our house does not have central air so I decided to beat the heat and make some popiscles. I had these ziplock style popsicle/yogurt bags for awhile and finally decided to put them to good use.

I made three different flavors: Berry Mint, Pineapple Coconut whip and Fat Elvis (banana, chocolate and peanut butter)

Berry Mint:
2 cups of mixed berries (I used what I had on hand: strawberries and blueberries)
3/4 cup of orange juice
5 sprigs of mint
honey for taste (I used a tablespoon)
Blend everything together, including mint, until smooth in a blender, pour into zip bags. I used a funnel to pour into the bags

Pineapple Coconut Whip
I am CRAZY for the dole whips at Disneyworld/land. This is my version
1 cup pineapple
3/4 cup vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
Blend everything together in a blender and pour into bags

Fat Elvis
This one is pretty rich but not as bad for you as a peanut butter and banana fried sandwich
1 banana
1 cup chocolate almond milk
1/2 cup of peanut butter
Blend in a blender. It will be super thick so pouring can be a bit of a pain

I stacked each bag in a bowl and froze. The milk took the shortest time to freeze. I can wait to try other flavors! I think I might booze some up for the 4th.

I got the zipicles on Amazon, but you could use the recipe in regular molds.

Thanks all! It makes me pretty happy. I love the idea of having little houses and dioramas around the yard for visitors.  Wink

Patraw-I collect Japanese re-ment miniatures and it from one of the sets. It came with a gold tea set. I wish it did light up. I have a little fire that does. It basically is a tealight with a red light and some sticks over it. I want to make something with it, but haven't figured out what yet.

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Quick Fairy Garden Room on: July 01, 2015 03:24:36 PM
I really wanted to spend some time outside today and was not in the mood to pull weeds, so I remembered a basket that Suereal gave me and whipped up this quick fairy garden bedroom with a few stars to gaze at. I had everything in my craft room so no need to go to the craft store. The flower was left over from a shrine I built.

Close up of the bed. I used washi tape, old fabric and some buttons I had to make the bed.
