Yes, they have been under the first post for that long.  My point is, if they have been there for this long and you have just now noticed them, maybe they are not so annoying and obvious after all.

The size of the font has changed, significantly. It used to be smaller than the posting text, now it's double.

And yes, we have been told that some people do not appreciate the ads.  It's not like we do not realize this and we haven't spent many, many hours discussing it as well as trying to find other ways to make income, though.  That being said, no one has taken the time to tell us another effective method in which we can raise money to run the site.  We're definitely open to ideas and suggestions.

BS. I used to be a FoC, there were several long threads in that forum discussing various other options. Why did I not renew my FoC? You Sweets. I don't know exactly what I did but even after long stretches of not posting I still get attitude from you and I never could figure out exactly what it was that I did to get such animosity from you. Of course everyone who hasn't got the "too bad, shut up" side of Sweets will pile on & tell me I'm the mean one, I expect that, such is the internet.
bye bye.

Ah, yes.  They have been in place since at least 06/09/2007.

Unless there is something new I'm not seeing.

I know the Google ads have been on Craftster that long, but I do not think they have been under the first post that long. If so that should be a big red flag as to how much of a turn off it is. Really, instead of telling me how wrong I am maybe you should be thinking about what I said is the effect on me from all the ads on this site. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way I just took the time to tell you.
3  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Google ads moved to new annoying location on: April 05, 2009 08:18:07 PM
I have noticed that the little Google ads that used to sit politely at the bottom of any forum thread I was reading have jumped up to just under the top post, even on multiple page threads this happens. That is really %$#%ing annoying.

I understand that it costs money to run a website, but the ads are taking over.
Right now I'm looking at three different ads for the same place, all dominating the page making any cool stuff people made fade into the background. It makes me come here less.

I want the old days of Craftster back when there wasn't 2/3 of ever page covered with completely unrelated advertising.
4  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 37 ENTRIES / button inchies on: April 05, 2009 08:02:45 PM
I've wanted to do some inchies for a while, never had a good theme to work from, buttons were perfect Smiley

I really enjoyed these, even if I didn't photograph them as well as I would have liked (it was very windy). Yes I did a couple buttons on an inchie on a button! Vintage coat buttons, glad to have found a use for them Smiley

I challenged myself to find text already sized to an inchie, all images and text on these came from very small sources, several old matchbooks & even a lipstick container.
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / sometimes I impress myself- photo on: April 05, 2009 07:51:05 PM
So the pelican was out there, just waiting for the sun to set so he could show off. I grabbed my camera and snapped a couple pics, maybe three or four? When we got home today & I uploaded them onto my computer I was mighty pleased with this one. This is a color photo, it is not altered in any way except resizing, just the natural effects of the late afternoon light.
Falcon Point Lodge, Seadrift Texas, on the San Antonio Bay. The fishing was quite good too Smiley
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Vintage train case smells on: March 26, 2009 05:06:28 PM
Baking soda is the least expensive of all those options, I'd start there. Carbon works very well but costs a good bit more. Dryer sheets cover more than absorb scents, same with Febreeze & it's ilk.

/pout, I love old lady make up smell.... or maybe just the stuff I got from my Nana. Then again she had excellent taste and the things I got from her all smell like Chanel no. 5
7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Problems with Singer Serger 14U64- Anyone Use This Serger? on: March 26, 2009 05:02:36 PM
I'm not familiar with that brands workings, sorry, but if you move your thread to the Sewing in General: Sewing Machines forum you will probably find someone who is.
Yeah, I know, it doesn't say Sergers on the title, but if it's mechanical & makes stitches, we will talk about it Cheesy
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: T-Ball banner on: March 26, 2009 04:57:40 PM
Where is it going & how sturdy does it need to be? If it's going to be hung on chain link fence during games, felt might not last the season. I like the circles (as balls?) with their names on them, very cute idea Smiley

I'm in the midst of painting a new banner for my church for our annual Easter production. I'm using canvas drop cloths (wonderfully cheap) & several coats of paint to weather proof them (I'm actually using up old house paint as my base coat! better than it turning into plastic bricks in my shed).
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / gift dilema: diabetic tween girl on: March 26, 2009 04:50:40 PM
I'm making a Cheer Up goodie box for a dear friends daughter. She is type1 diabetic, slim, athletic & a good student. Cute cupcakes/ sweet food themed stuff are all the rage but would it be wrong to do a purse or bag in this theme for a kid who really can't have sweets? or would it be "yay! a cupcake that's all mine!"? All but one of my friends with kids this age have boys :/
halp!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: found me some cute vintage patterns on: March 22, 2009 06:45:22 AM
I have some patterns from the 40's with 20" waists..... I'm not sure who would have ever worn that as my healthy & fit seven year old measures 22". Boggles the mind, man, boggles the mind.....
