I made this sweatervest for my husband, who has been in love with Nintendo (especially Mario games) since he was 5 years old.

Thanks for looking!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby Link outfit, now including baby! on: December 29, 2009 05:22:24 PM
I made this baby Link Outfit for my friends who were expecting their first baby. Well, they had their baby boy last September and six weeks later he was just the right size to fit into the costume. I finally got around to posting some photos of him wearing it! You can see more photos on my blog.

Here he is, all tuckered out after a day of fighting monsters in dungeons:

Hi Everyone!
I just thought I'd let you know that I'm currently working on a pattern that will be available for free on my website at http://happyseamstress.com

I'll be posting an update to this thread when it's ready.
6  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Wario Costume for Hubby on: August 06, 2009 07:22:31 PM
Last Halloween my husband decided to get his geek on and go as Wario, his favorite Nintendo character. I made him this Wario costume out of fleece, polymer clay, and lots of love. Hope you like it!

My husband made the nose & attached a felt moustache to it:

Super happy husband action shot:

I made up the pattern as I went along, and unfortunately didn't keep track of it as I went! I might just create a pattern for it in the near future...I'll keep you all posted!

OK I think I fixed the problem with the missing images! If anyone is still having an issue seeing any of the photos, let me know and I'll try to fix it.

Thanks everyone for all the great comments--I'm absolutely blown away by the response!

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby Link: Now with Baby Photos! on: August 02, 2009 08:47:06 PM
The pattern is now available for download on my website here: http://www.happyseamstress.com/knitting/baby-link-outfit-free-pattern. Happy knitting!

A friend of mine & her husband are both huge fans of Zelda (the Nintendo video game series), so for their upcoming baby shower for their first baby I knit this baby-sized Link costume.

The whole outfit:

I made a baby bottle holder to look like Link's quiver of arrows.
This is what it looks like form the front:

This is the baby bottle quiver from the back:

Brown Link-style booties:

I added leather soles to the bottoms to make them look more medieval-ey:

I also made a green baby blanket adorned with the Triforce, appliqued in felt:

I'm going to "wrap" the whole thing in this wooden chest that I stained dark brown to look like the treasure chest from the game:

And finally, this image of Link was my inspiration:

Thanks a bunch for looking, and let me know what you think!
