1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Star Wars for mothers day. on: May 14, 2017 05:35:21 PM
This guy was an experiment in playing with scraps. And as soon as the top was done it had a home. The  new owner bought it as a mother's day gift for her kiddo. So she gets all the extra snuggles from a happy boy on mother's day.
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / mini art quilt. Picasso... sesame street... where they meet... on: May 14, 2017 05:30:02 PM
Can you tell me how to get... how to get to sesame street...

Obviously take a left turn at cubism and a right at surrealism...

Mostly made with applique.tho I had to piece the shirt stripes together to keep the solid theme. And the background is a hand dyed I made last year for the Crafster Ontario meet up. (Good eye craftylittlemonkey)

my favourite bit is the picture within the picture.

I printed on fabric a bunch of other images that were in the running to be recreated.so she can swap out spending on her mood.

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Mini Art Quilt Swap 8 Gallery on: April 24, 2017 06:13:05 PM
My favourite part about swapping is receiving the thing you didn't know you were missing. Until it became yours. Smiley

craftylittlemonkey hit that nail on the head.

Its outdoorsy, and scenic and has night sky's and campfires ..

oh. But look who's here.

and here.

and here!

Mr Jackalope has a magnet on his back. Smiley and there are 5 hidden in the quilting. So he can move around. It's such a fun idea.and we already have the perfect spot for it. Where we can take turns moving him to where we think he should be (hub and I have already had words)

thank you clm! This is beautiful. As is your family.   (We got to hear her sons craftster Christmas song he wrote... next generation is coming along)
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Mini Art Quilt Swap 8 (Sign-ups CLOSED, Sendouts 4/24) on: April 24, 2017 07:02:50 AM
Now, I was at a pretty swinging divorce party last night and may be a wee muffled by the champagne... but do we not have a gallery yet? Cause I have an amazing share to show off.

Eeep. It isn't that huge. Just a fun silly thing.

I didn't bust out the electronics and conductive thread this time. Wink

Top is together. There may be one more interactive feature to add if I convince hubby to do the editing.

It makes me smile. Smiley
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: 2017 QuiltAlong on: April 07, 2017 10:35:10 AM
Challenge #1

2017 goals

Finishes

Bot shirt quilt
Qbs9 granny squares
Green green
We suck at birdwatching
Mini art quilt

Commissions

Potter double
T-shirt x2
Sister Ethel
Agnes blue

I'm in a weird place with quilts right now. I have a couple opportunities to be in store fronts in my touristy town. One already has some orphan quilts. The other one is a super arty hipstery place. So... I have to make some quilts. Lots of quilts.  Lucky. I have lots of ideas.

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / two new baby quilts on: April 06, 2017 09:58:52 AM
Bright and fun! I love making baby quilts

First up is an improv piece from off cuts of a HUGE flying geese fail quilt. Reduce reuse recycle right...

second up is my old go to. Garden Fence. I usually try not to use white in baby quilts. But this one called for it.
