So sweet! Love the sentiment. And the otter is adorable.

Your pattern, fabrics from your stash, hand embroidered, meant to be played with and made in a day! Golden! What a great friend you are to have. The doll is adorable!

Very well done. Your drawings are darling. One of my favorite things to do was to play with my Campbell Soup Kids paper dolls. I love that these are articulated with star brads. Very clever. Do you display them in some fashion? I imagine making a paper marionette version.

I can see that I have some catching up to do in the Harry Potter world. I had Google the creature. There's a fair amount of fan art. Looks like you captured the look of the creature well. I hope he brings much enjoyment and luck to your home. Does he have a name?

Lovely portrait of your daughters; you should get it framed!  Did your girls actually sit as models or did you work from a photograph (I prefer still shots as my models when I do portraits because they never move on me)?

I used a candid shot from my phone. This was the first day of school. The painting hangs above the full size bed they share.

So fun! I know many a girl who'd love to have that hanging in their room. How big was the original painting?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I've always loved your work, and this is no exception. Great job!

Terrific dolls! I love their outfits and expressions.
9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Sister Love My first impressionistic painting on: January 27, 2017 09:27:41 PM
Last night the women in my church group got together to try something new. A teacher came and taught them how to paint a tree with cherry blossoms. This project would have been too easy foe, and in the spirit of stretching and getting out of our comfort zones, I thought I'd try something new, for myself.
I've never painted in the impressionistic style. My art teachers have always told me that I work too tightly, and that I need to loosen up. This project made me feel anxious. I had to walk away from it 3 times to calm my heart.
Today, when I picked it up again, I felt anxious again. The colors I'd mixed last night were different. The lighting was different. But, I kept at it. I put it down twice and walked away from it, and finally finished after picking up the kids from school.
The models are my two daughters, 21 months apart, they've been raised like twins. They share everything, and can't imagine being apart for any length of time. I wanted to capture their love for one another, and didn't care too much about the likeness, since they are growing up so fast. But, I managed to get their likenesses as well.  Something I didn't think was possible when working so loosely.

Very well done. Her beading on her costume is great. And it looks like a doll a child could actually play with.
Did you use a pattern?
