I've posted this in the Misc. Challenge but I wanted to share it here too.

Here's the story...
BEFORE

A few years ago I bought this hunk of plastic at a thrift shop, I just knew it would make the perfect shrine. I cleaned it up, took the pink stickers off and then let it sit for 2 years.
This year one of my goals is to finish up all those pesky projects that have been sitting unfinished and bust my growing stash. So needless to say the Misc. Challenge was the perfect way to force me to get my act together.

When my husband's grandmother (a lovely beautiful elegant lady) passed away we bought her house. There were a lot of things left behind when we moved in. A lot of what was left behind was religious stuff like a velvet Jesus painting, rosaries and little funeral/death cards of my husbands family from ages ago.

Some of the items I've used are new (the candy skulls which were a giveaway from my work) and some are those small things left behind, like the little Madonna.

That beautiful girl at the top is my granny-in-law.

The handsome guy at the top is my hubbys grandfather

I'm pretty sure that fuzzy stuff is a bit of dried edelweiss we found when we moved in. It's soooo funky looking

Here it is all closed up.
I loved this project and I'm thrilled that I now have a little spot to honour our family
