so i've been going through lots of craft blogs the past few days while spending time with my drugged up BF who recently had his tonsils taken out.  While looking for ideas to make a new bag for school i found some awesome tutes for things i'd been wanting to make.  the pencil is something i'd made before but i didn't include a liner since the outer fabric was thick enough.  i'd never attempted a spiral cover before.

i went to hancock fabrics this afternoon to find some fat quarters in fun colors to experiment with and i found this awesome flower and leaf print that i love.  i bought 3 rolls of it and 3 of a cute matching green paisley.

i made the planner cover for myself since mine was plain black, and the pencil case for my friend in Georgia.  hoping she likes it as much as i do!

here are the tutes i used as a guide.

pencil case: http://www.thimble.ca/?p=146
notebook cover: http://kirinote.blogspot.com/2007/07/how-to-make-reversible-journal-cover.html

onto the pics Smiley

the lining is done in the same green paisley as the pockets of the planer cover, i forgot to take pics, oops!

comments welcome Smiley

These are adorable.  Thank your for the tutes!!  I've been looking for a really good one of both of these.  I absolutely love the fabric, I can't believe it's from hancock.
